This June, we will celebrate the city's 59th Charter Day Anniversary and 4th Marunggay Festival! Here's the calendar of activities!

𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭!

Join the 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and reign supreme as Laoag’s new icon for Inabel Fashion!
This is open to all artists residing in Ilocos Norte.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧:
1. The competition is open to all amateur artists, and budding local Ilocano designers age 16 and above.
2. The design piece should be a dress/gown with butterfly/Terno sleeves.
3. Fabrics to be used for the piece must be 60 percent Inabel and 40 percent of any fabric of your choice.
4. The designer-aspirant must submit a design sketch, and photos of two (2) of his/her recent creations.
5. Submission of entry is on or before May 31, 2024, @ 12 noon at 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦@𝐥𝐚𝐨𝐚𝐠𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲.𝐠𝐨𝐯.𝐩𝐡 with the subject: 𝐈𝐅𝐃𝐂_𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞
6. More details will be discussed after the announcement of qualified designers.

This intricate modern filipiñana costume stands out as it depicts the lustrous and colorful Pamulinawen Festival giving it a distinct pamulinawen look whilst retaining a glamorous feel. The handpaintings were placed in the skirt to emphasize the city's rich culture and heritage with the Laoageños' sources of living. Shouting this year's city theme: Love and shine!

In 2018, Presidential Proclamation No. 469 declared April as Filipino Food Month (FFM), also known as Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino.
