Our story begins with how my Aunt and Uncle ( The Owners) started their journey towards the start of their small business and how they worked hard to earn their keep.
Back in the 90’s when i was still small, me and my cousins used to wave at any flying vehicle, be it helicopter or a plane, or even a rocket on its way to somewhere out in the universe, looking up at the sky saying, “BYE TAGIE! BYEEE!! Little did I know that it wasn’t supposed to be just words to keep amused by our parents. It was then my Tita Vangie and Tito Pinong went to Italy and worked there. Once every two years, they managed to get back home and spent their holidays with us. Bringing gifts and lots and lots of chocolates for the kids and expensive bottles of champagne and wine for their siblings. Since my Lola is the only person left in their house, us kids will usually spend our vacation there to have fun and to be with our dearly, cool and always FUN Lola. ( To those who knew her already, you know I’m describing her right!)
Back then, my Tita’s house was just a small Nipa hut surrounded by trees and shrubs just near the beach. I grew up witnessing the transformation of the house from pieces of woods and palm leaves to a simple yet elegant home. Since they are the first to at least have a convenient life among their other siblings, they are willingly supporting each one of them, sticking with each other to help as a family. I felt proud of them, seeing the fruits of their hardships from work and i know how important it is for someone who started with nothing, pushes you up to the boundaries just to give your family a better chance in life.
When i was in my teenage days, i usually bring my friends over to Malabrigo when they ask for a weekend getaway or someplace refreshing to the eyes. I always bring it up to my friends that we have a nice place to be at and they’ll surely love it. Surprisingly, I never fail to do so. I always get good comments and suggestions that we should put up a place to stay and make it an official business. I went to talk with Tita and we have discussed the possibilities of making this plan to open opportunities for the family to start a small business and showcase the beauty of our place. Of course, at first she was hesitant that it might ruin the peacefulness of our neighborhood but then she agreed that the excess spaces should be put up to use and make a little profit out of it, specially now that they are retired from their work for almost two decades.
After then, the couple decided to put up a two Nipa huts with two rooms each that can accommodate at least 5 persons per room. There’s also two separate kitchen for the guest that may be rented for an affordable price. Two common Toilet and Bathroom stand just behind the huts and a wide space for parking and for tent camping are just at front of the beach. The Family have always dreamed that someday my tito and tita would put up a place and share to the rest of the world how beautiful and just amazing this place could offer.
Finally, dreams really do come true! We have now officially open a small business that would offer our beloved guests a simple yet an amazing experience to be in a town with lots of beautiful sceneries to appreciate and a blissful moment to be with their family and friends.
I always thought that Malabrigo is too beautiful to share but i guess, everybody deserves to have a piece of experience, to live with simplicity and with less distractions from the city, even just for a day.
Thanks for reading and we hope to see you @La SeaEsta Beach Resort!
