: Only special sweeper flights are allowed at the Dumaguete Airport for the month of October, the Dumaguete City government said.

Philippine Airlines flies every Tuesday and Friday, while Cebu Pacific flies every Wednesday and Thursday.

Sweeper flights are for locally stranded individuals (LSI), returning overseas Filipinos (ROF), and authorized persons outside of residence (APOR).

Individuals who wish to avail of sweeper flights home are required to secure the following documents:

1. Medical Clearance Certificate issued by the City/Municipal Health Office of the place of origin
2. Travel Authority issued by the JTF CV Shield (PNP)
3. Negative RT-PCR test result (Valid 72 hours after test result release date)
4. Certificate of Acceptance from the City of Dumaguete
5. And to undergo 14-day quarantine upon arrival in a facility designated for the purpose.

BREAKING: Four women, all senior citizens, were killed after a pickup truck rammed into a sari-sari store in Barangay Bae, Jimalalud town this morning.

: Nineteen cities and towns in Negros Oriental have zero active COVID-19 cases as of today, October 5, 2020.

Out of the said areas, only Valencia remains as the town that has never recorded any COVID-19 case since the pandemic began.

There are 11 active cases in the province at present, recorded in Canlaon City, Bais City, Pamplona, Amlan, Sibulan, and La Libertad.

Even with the drop of active cases, Provincial IATF ground commander Dr. Liland Estacion reminded the public to not be complacent and to continue observing minimum health protocols, such as the wearing of face masks and observing physical distancing.

: Missed the dolphins of Bais? Here's good news!

The popular dolphin watching in Bais City has been reopened to local tourists, pursuant to Executive Order 64-2020.

Health protocols will be observed: face masks are required upon entry, alcoholic beverages are not allowed on board, and boats must only be at 50 percent capacity. Only guests who coordinated with the Bais City Tourism Office may be allowed on board.

Here are the complete health guidelines to be followed for the reopening of the dolphin watching:

1. Any person below 21 years old, 60 years old and above , with immunodeficiency, co-morbidities and other health risks, and pregnant women are not allowed on board and neither can they be within the Canibol Port Area.
2. Only guests coordinated with Bais City Tourism Office are allowed on board.
3. Uncoordinated and walk-in guests shall be indorsed to the Bais City Boat Operators' Association for proper coordination with the City Tourism Office.
4. Dolphin and Whale Watching activities shall be exclusive for Negros Oriental residents only.
5. Each boat will accept 50% of the operational capacity.
6. The Bais City Boat Operators' Association and/or the boat operator shall implement optimum health protocol such as but not limited to thermal scanning, contact tracing form and disinfection procedure.
7. Strictly no alcoholic beverages on board at all times.
8. Only packed lunch are allowed on board. Strictly no sharing of foods.
9. Decontamination prior and after each trip shall be implemented at all times.
10. NO FACE MASK, NO BOARDING POLICY.

JUST IN: Negros Oriental has reported so far its biggest number of new recoveries with 14, provincial IATF ground commander Dr. Liland Estacion said in a press briefing this morning.

Among the new recoveries are two frontliners from Canlaon City, as well as two relatives and direct contacts of a previously infected health worker there.

Because of this, provincial IATF ground commander Dr. Liland Estacion said that medical authorities have curbed the local transmission in the city.

Two new infections were also reported, both locally stranded individuals from Bais City and Pamplona town.
