SLEDEVU conducts Leadership Training on Advocacy Development Program

The Student Leadership and Development Unit (SLEDEVU) spearheaded the Leadership Training on Advocacy Development Program on January 22, 2025, held at the Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Mini Theater. The seminar was conducted to enhance each student organization's (academic, civic, and religious) advocacy toward the university's goal of creating a safe, secure, and sustainable campus.

The welcome address was given by SLEDEVU Director, Dr. Lorenzo B. Dinlayan, III followed by messages from our University President, Dr. Joy M. Mirasol, and Vice President for Culture, Arts, and Students Services, Dr. Lincoln V. Tan. Keynote Speakers for BukSU Advocacy Trajectory and Advocacy Program for Academic, Civic, and Religious Organizations were Chief Administer Finance Officer, Ms. Rosanna S. Generato, Associate Professor V, CPAG, Engr. Amber A. Paguray, Ms. Marjorie T. Sobradil, and Ms. Ana Ninfa B. Caballero.

This seminar training aims to strengthen student leadership skills and capabilities for innovative competencies, practice ethical standards, demonstrate the capability to collaborate and implement initiative and empower change through student advocacy in academic, civic, and religious organizations.

"Aksyon Laban sa Plastic, Isang Adhikain at Solusyon"

𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮

Ang Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Act of 2022 sa ilalim ng batas na Republic Act No. 11898 sa Pilipinas ay nag-aatas sa mga kompanya na magkaroon ng responsibilidad sa pamamahala sa mga basurang nalilikha ng kanilang mga produkto. Nangangahulugan ito na ang mga producer ay dapat magtatag ng mga sistema para sa pagkolekta, pag-recycle, at tamang pagtatapon ng kanilang mga produkto.
Ang EPR Act ay naglalayon na bawasan ang basura, pagaanin ang pressure sa mga lokal na pamahalaan, at itaguyod ang mga napapanatiling gawi sa pamamagitan ng paggawa ng mga kompanya na may pananagutan para sa buong lifecycle ng kanilang produkto.

Ang Project Matatap ay isang flagship program na pinangungunahan ng Philippine Association of Environmental Science Students. Ito ay naglalayon na ipaalam sa publiko ang mga isyu tungkol sa kapaligiran, mapagyaman ang mga kaalaman sa mga alituntunin ng mga batas at patakaran, at ang kahalagahan o papel ng mga paksang tinutukoy. Ngayong akademikong taon, ang Project Matatap ay maglulunsad ng “ALPAS: Aksyon Laban sa Plastic, isang Adhikain at Solusyon”.
