FYI

AirAsia plans to gradually resume domestic operations by June. This is following the Philippine government's decision to upgrade the National Capital Region (NCR) and other areas of the country to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) starting Monday, June 1.

We are currently checking with aviation authorities and respective LGUs for their own guidelines regarding the opening of local airports, as some may still be closed in June.

Stringent procedures are in place to ensure flight crew and passengers' safety. The new set of measures includes contactless boarding procedures, disinfection of all aircraft and facilities, and the use of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters inside AirAsia aircrafts.

Guests are urged to check our website, airasia.com, for available flights and updates.

PRES DUTERTE’S SPEECH LAST NIGHT‼️

After the 15th of May, if the ECQ will not be extended anymore, we should all assume that a GCQ will be imposed on ALL of the regions affected by the COVID-19. Let us help Malacañang in informing people of the new normal we have to follow. Familiarize yourselves to avoid confusion.

General Community Quarantine (GCQ) Rules:

1. Selected workers in non-essential services are allowed to go to work.

● electronics
● exports
● manufacturing
● e-commerce
● delivery
● repair services
● maintenance
● housing

2. Half of employees work from home, 50 percent are working on site:

● Finance
● Business process outsourcing (BPO)
● Non-leisure trade and service

3. Will remain CLOSED:

● Schools
● Amusement centers
● Leisure facilities
● Gaming
● Tourism services

4. NOT permitted to leave the house:

● Children (0 to 20 years old)
● Elderly (60 years old and above)
● People with high-risk health issues

5. ONLY shops catering to NECESSITIES will be allowed to re-open in malls. Malls will limit entry of shoppers.

6. Airconditioning will be limited in malls. WIFI will not be provided. NO loittering allowed.

7. Priority construction projects can resume

8. Nonworkers are allowed to buy food and go out to avail of essential services

● Allowed will be people who are 21 to 59 years old.
● EXCEPT again: children, elderly, vulnerable people

9. Public transport can operate at reduced capacity.

10. Local government units shall ENFORCE CURFEW for nonworkers.

11. Airports and ports can only operate for the unhampered DELIVERY OF GOODS.

---
Plans of going out or reunions after May 15 are still not entirely possible. You are REQUIRED to bring an I.D. that specifies your AGE and ADDRESS wherever you go. Checkpoints will still be in place. You will still be questioned if you defy the rules.

We need to abide by the guidelines. Be aware that we are trying to avoid a second wave which is considered to be more damaging than the first.

WE CAN DO THIS.💟☝🌿

As of April 5, 2020, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country ballooned to 3,246. Here is the breakdown of cases in Metro Manila:

05/04/2020

To all our valued customers, all flights and sea travels will be resume on April 15, 2020, however, due to the increase number of Covid19 patients and while waiting for further updates coming from our President, we highly advise to book your flights or voyages on May 15, 2020 onwards. The Philippine government is currently studying the "possibility" of extending the Covid19 enhanced quarantine period by another 15-20 days, but let's do hope that there will be no extensions.

STAY AT HOME, as much as possible.

LATEST: CEBU MOVES TO CLOSE DOORS TO DOMESTIC TRAVELERS. Here's what we've gathered from Governor Gwendolyn Garcia tonight:

Cebu will close to domestic travelers its seaports 72 hours from now and its airport 48 hours from now but those coming from Clark, Legazpi City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Dumaguete City will be barred entry effective immediately.

Garcia said the ban covers persons only, adding that the movement of cargoes and products will remain unimpeded.

Those already in transit from the cities listed above, places where there have been confirmed cases of COVID-19, will be asked to undergo self-quarantine procedures.

Some sea travels will be banned within an earlier timeframe.

Within 48 hours, incoming sea travels from the cities of San Carlos, Guihulngan, and Escalante in Negros will not be allowed to dock in Cebu.

Within 24 hours, sea travels from Dumaguete City will not be permitted here as well.

Except for these mentioned places, sea travelers from other areas of the country will be completely barred entry to Cebu in 72 hours.

Garcia has also ordered the closure of moviehouses, pools, recreation centers, gyms, and other communal activity centers in the province.

Curfew will be implemented across the province from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. except those delivering goods. Business process outsourcing (BPO) companies may request for exemption subject to the governor’s approval.

The police, mayors, barangay officials, and port authorities will be tasked to implement these regulations.

The prohibitions will be in effect for a period of 30 days in Cebu.

Why 30 days? Garcia said this is to cover the 14-day incubation period for the coronavirus and the additional days will serve as a leeway to mitigate risks.

The governor also pointed out that what is being prohibited is entry to Cebu, not exit.

Residents or travelers from Manila who will arrive in Cebu earlier than the beginning of the mandated community quarantine there on Monday are advised to undergo self-isolation.

So far, there are 68 recorded persons under investigation in Cebu. They are considered as such because they showed signs of upper respiratory tract infections and came from a place where there was a confirmed case of COVID-19. | via Lorraine Laurente Ecarma
