On February 25, Crystal Symphony made its port call again to the City of Manila after a year. She carried 502 passengers with 350 crew members onboard out of which 150 are Filipinos.

Captain Nenad Willheim and his shipboard management team welcomed Magsaysay representatives and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) seabased and landbased personnel. Crystal Symphony treated their guests with an exclusive ship tour. In return, guests’ eyes feasted on the luxurious and relaxing suites and guest rooms, dining halls, and wellness and entertainment facilities.

“We are grateful that Manila, Palawan, and Boracay are part of your itinerary, showcasing the Philippines’ stunning landscapes and the warmth of Filipino hospitality. Your trust in Magsaysay by employing Filipino seafarers means a great deal, providing them with meaningful careers while uplifting their families and communities. Captain Nenad Willheim, we truly appreciate your leadership and care for our crew,” Magsaysay Maritime Corporation President Arnold Javier expressed his appreciation towards the Crystal Symphony management and team.

While doing the ship tour, the group were able to meet Filipino crew members from housekeepers, librarian, technological concierge, to waiters who served the special lunch prepared by Crystal Symphony.

The vessel will make its stop in Boracay, Aklan and Puerto Princesa, Palawan before heading to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Crystal Symphony is one of the many vessels that employs hundreds of Filipino seafarers. They admitted that Filipino seafarers are still the top preferred employees for their world-class skills and unmatched hospitality.

MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy (MMMA) held its second graduation of cadets on Tuesday, February 18, at the MMMA Campus in Salitran IV, Dasmariñas, Cavite. A total of 80 Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BS MT) and 72 Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BS MarE) cadets received their diplomas. All graduates are guaranteed employment onboard ships with partner shipping companies Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and MAGSAYSAY.

MMMA also underscored during the commencement exercises the recent accreditation and certification of Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to the academy as an Authorized Seafarer Education Institution—a milestone for any maritime institution. MLIT’s strict standards demonstrate the topnotch and long-term credibility of MMMA in terms of educational structure, state-of-the-art training facilities, and academic performance.

Former Senator Manny Pacquiao graced the graduation as the event’s keynote speaker. “The world is watching. Every ship you step on, every journey you take, you carry the Filipino name. Sikapin ninyong hindi lang maging mahusay—maging pinakamahusay. Maging marino na hindi lang naglalayag, kundi nag-iiwan ng marka. Maging Pilipino na hindi lang nagtatrabaho, kundi nagbibigay ng inspirasyon,” Pacquaio shared.

A new cohort of 152 graduates from MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy in the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE) programs will start to embark on their maritime careers as the academy hosted its 2nd Commencement Exercises yesterday, February 18, at the MMMA Campus in Dasmarinas, Cavite. Through the partnership with Mitsui OSK Lines, all cadets are assured employment aboard MOL vessels and Magsaysay-manned vessels, marking the commencement of their professional journey at sea.

In another major milestone, MMMA has been accredited by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT), solidifying its reputation as a world-class maritime institution with global standard training and education.
