"PAKARITAY SA KARANTAHAY: MATUGUINAO AMATEUR SINGING CONTEST"
(Exclusive to all residents of the Municipality of Matuguinao)
May 13, 2023, in the Municipal Cultural Center.

PRIZES:
Champion - 5,000.00 + Trophy
1st Runner Up - 3,500.00 + Trophy
2nd Runner Up - 2,000.00 + Trophy
Consolation Prize- 1,000.00 + Certificate

CRITERIA
1. Vocal—%50
• Vocal Technique- Tone quality, Breathing support, intonation, diction, and articulation
• Rhythm and Tempo- Voice in relation to the music

2. Expression—%30
• Performance- How well the performer can express the meaning and mood of the song

3. Showmanship—%20
• Show Design- Music Selection, Effective use of Stage and Performance Area, Outfit and style
• Entertainment Value-The audience’s and judge’s reactions to the overall performance

GUIDELINES
1. Contestant must be 16-28 years old and a resident of the Municipality of Matuguinao.
2. Contestants must confirm their age by passing an ID indicating the date of birth, or a PSA-issued Birth Certificate.
3. Aspiring contestants must register on or before May 7, 2023, by sending a message to Matuguinao Youth Development Office page
4. Live Audition will be on May 8, 2023, at 1:00 in the afternoon in the Municipal Lobby. Contestants must bring their own material, minus-one piece of music.
5. The panel will choose eight (8) final contestants who will compete on May 13, 2023.
6. The Eight (8) Contenders shall prepare two (2) songs of any genre and language (English, Filipino, Waray-Waray), one for the elimination round, and one for the final showdown. The songs must be different from the piece used during the audition.
7. Contestants shall wear clothes fitting the song.
8. The verdict of the Panel of Judges shall be final and irrevocable.

"HATAW SAYAW: OPEN MODERN DANCE COMPETITION"
May 13, 2023 in the Municipal Cultural Center, Matuguinao, Samar.

Prizes:
Champion: 10,000.00 + Trophy
1st Runner Up: 7,000.00 + Trophy
2nd Runner Up: 5,000.00 + Trophy
Consolation Prize: 2,000.00 + Certificate

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:
Concept - 20%
Choreography - 30%
Performance - 40%
Visual Aesthetics & Music - 10%
TOTAL - 100%

MECHANICS:
1. The competition is open to all residents of Samar.
2. Limited to 8 SLOTS ONLY.
3. Each dance group must consist of six (6) to ten (10) members only and must be 16 to 25 years old regardless of gender.
4. Aspiring contingents should submit a 3-minute modern dance audition video to [email protected] until May 6, 2023. The submitted entries will be screened on May 8, 2023, and the Top 8 contingents will be notified as the final contingents to compete on May 13, 2023.
5. The final contingents shall prepare two (2) dance presentations, one for the elimination round, and one for the final showdown. Audition pie
6. The groups' modern dance presentations are limited to the following genre; Tap Dance, Lyrical Dance, Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary Dance. Acrobat and Aerial figures are not allowed.
7. The routine must be at least three (3) minutes and a maximum of five (5) minutes.
8. There will be a deduction of five (5) points per excess of one minute.
9. The deadline for registration is on May 6, 2023
10. The decision of the Panel of Judges is FINAL.

AUDITION GUIDELINES:

1. Aspiring contingents must be registered initially by sending a message to Matuguinao Youth Development Office page on or before May 5, 2023.
2. Pre-registered contingents must email a 3-minute recorded dance audition video to [email protected] on or before May 7, 2023. The group photo must be attached to the email.
3. Costumes and props are required and are considered in the selection process.
4. The video must be taken in a single orientation and angle. Close-up shots, camera effects, and motions are not allowed.
5. Editing brightness and contrast are considered.
6. The audition videos will be screened on May 8, 2023
7. Top 8 Contingents will be notified thru the given contact information.
