RT-PCR TESTING
The following countries are requiring passengers to take a COVID-19 RT-PCR Test, whether for essential or non-essential travel reasons.
The COVID-19 RT-PCR or Real-Time Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) determines the actual presence of the coronavirus and if a person is currently infected. The test kits use actual swabs from patients taken from the nose or throat. Results can be processed in 24 hours or longer (3 to 5 days).
ASIA
Cambodia
Medical Certificate issued by health authorities, recognized and certified by the Government of his/her home country indicating that he/she is COVID-19 negative for 72 hours to the departure
Upon the arrival, Cambodians and Non-Cambodian nationals alike will be escorted to a designated COVID-19 center for testing, where they will be accommodated, and they must wait up to 24 hours for their results before being allowed to enter the Kingdom.
China
Chinese and foreign travelers who are to fly from the Philippines to China take Nucleic Acid Tests and Serum Antibody Test for COVID-19 within 3 days (72 hours) before boarding and only those who test negative will be allowed to board the plane.
Hong Kong
Original copy of Negative Nucleic Acid Test Result Certificate indicating pax name, passport number or ID issued within 72 hours before departure.
Note: The laboratory test result must state negative for SARS-CoV2 or not detected SARS-CoV2 / coronavirus
Note: Beginning August 10, 2020, no need to have ID or travel document number of the relevant traveler on the test report. The test report can be a copy, either paper or electronic, doesn't need to be "original".
Indonesia (Jakarta)
Test result with validity of minimum 7 days prior to departure date (not mandatory)
Without certificate, pax will be subject to PCR test upon arrival and quarantine at personal expense.
For domestic travel, PCR-Test is required with validity of 7 days prior to departure on a domestic flight.
Indonesia (Denpasar)
Test result with validity of minimum 7 days prior to departure date (not mandatory)
Without certificate, pax will be subject to PCR test upon arrival and quarantine at personal expense.
International pax unable to show PCR test result from country of departure will be directed to Udayana University Hospital for PCR test & quarantined in a designated hotel. All cost will be shouldered by traveler.
Macau
Test result issued by local medical institution within 7 days before boarding flight
Malaysia
COVID-19 testing prior to departure to Malaysia is NO LONGER required. All passengers are required to undergo COVID-19 swab test upon arrival at the Malaysia international point of entry, for a fee of RM120 for foreign nationals and RM60 for Malaysian nationals.
Japan
Effective September 01, 2020,
Non-Japanese Nationals including Filipinos with (1) New Japan Visa / Sticker on Passport, and (2) Holding Re-Entry Permit: Pre-entry test negative certificate conducted within 72 hours before departure.
Seafarers: Pre-entry test negative certificate conducted within 72 hours before departure.
All arriving passengers from Philippines are required to take a PCR-test to be conducted by Japan local Quarantine.
Papua New Guinea
Negative RT-PCR Test result issued at most 7 days before departure
Singapore
All passengers who are traveling from or have travel history to the Philippines within the last 14 days prior to entry into or transit/transfer through Singapore, will be required to take a COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test within 72 hours before departure.
Sea crew: the crew must have a negative result from a COVID-19 test (polymerase chain reaction (PCR) type) taken at a government-approved or ISO 15189-accredited testing facility not more than 72 hours prior to departure for Singapore.
South Korea
Test result issued by designated hospital within 48 hours before flight departure time. Certificate must have Korean or English translation.
The Negative COVID-19 PCR Test Result will only be accepted if it was issued by one of the hospitals designated by the Embassy.
Taiwan
Test result certificate in English issued at most 3 working days before departure; ALL arriving passengers coming from the Philippines must be mandatory swabbed for COVID-19 test on arrival.
*except pax with Chinese Taipei travel document; Alien Resident Certificate; resident visa; visa with remark "DC", "FD", "FO", "O", "FL", "FC", "FS" or "ER“; & with MOFA ID.
Thailand
PCR test result issued no more than 72 hours before departure
Vietnam
Experts must be tested for SAR CoV.2 by REALTIME PCR for 3 to 7 days before entering Vietnam.
MIDDLE EAST
Kuwait
Negative PCR test result issued within the previous 96 hours prior to departure.
If requested, 10% of pax on each flight will be selected for random COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival
Qatar Passengers from Low-risk countries: Required to take PCR test upon arrival to airport
Other countries (including PH): Required to take a PCR test on the 6th day of hotel quarantine in Qatar
Saudi Arabia
Negative result (PCR) test from a verified laboratory, and it must be done not later than 72 hours* before the scheduled departure to KSA.
RT-PCR Test validity is 72 hours from the time the test was conducted/taken.
UAE
Negative COVID-19 certificate before arriving into DXB or DWC.
Arriving pax from 54 countries including Philippines shall undergo ANOTHER COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival
NORTH AMERICA
USA (Hawaii)
Passengers from the Philippines are not required to take Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT). Only passengers coming from Mainland USA (domestic travel) my take a NAAT test from a CLIA-certified laboratory (taken 72 hours before departure) to avoid the 14-day mandatory quarantine. Passengers from the Philippines shall strictly observe the 14-day mandatory quarantine upon arrival.
