Inaprubahan ng Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines ang tatlong marian shrines bilang national shrine.

Sa unang araw ng 129th plenary assembly ng mga obispo nitong January 25 sa Seda Hotel Nuvali, Sta. Rosa Laguna sinang-ayunan nito ang pagtalagang national shrine ng Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Aranzazu sa San Mateo Rizal na bahagi ng Diocese of Antipolo, dalawa naman mula sa Archdiocese of Manila ang Archdiocesan Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace o EDSA Shrine at ang Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Loreto.

Sa kasaysayan ang dambana ng Nuestra Seรฑora de Aranzazu ay itinatag ng mga Agustinong misyonero noong 1596 at August 29, 1659 naitatag ang unang parokya na itinalagang patron si San Mateo subalit taong 1705 sa pangunguna ni Jesuit priest, Fr. Juan Echazabal sinimulan ang debosyon sa Lady of Aranzazu mula Spain na kalauna'y naging bagong patron ng parokya.

June 2004 nang maging diocesan shrine ang dambana habang June 2013 nang gawaran ng episcopal coronation ang imahe.

Nagpapasalamat naman si EDSA Shrine Rector Fr. Jerome Secillano sa CBCP sa pagkilalang national shrine sa dambanang naging saksi sa pinakamapayapa at tinaguriang bloodless People Power Revolution ng bansa noong 1986.

Itinatag naman ni Spanish Franciscan priest Fr. Blas de la Madre de Dios ang simbahan ng Our Lady of Loreto sa Sampaloc Manila habang idinambana ang Nuestra Seรฑora de Loreto noong May 1, 1613.

Makaraan ang mga digmaan at kalamidad muling naitayo ang simbahan noong November 22, 1958 at itinalaga sa Our Lady of Loreto kung saan December 5, 2002 nang gawing Archdiocesan Shrine habang March 23, 2023 nang aprubahan ng Lungsod ng Maynila ang Nuestra Seรฑora de Loreto bilang patrona ng Sampaloc District.

December 2023 nang gawaran ni Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula ng episcopal coronation at December 10, 2024 naman ng pangunahan ni Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles Brown ang canonical coronation sa imahe kasabay ng deklarasyong pagkakaroon ng Special Bond of Spiritual Affinity sa Papal Basilica of Sancta Maria Maggiore sa Roma.

Sa kabuuan mayroong 33 national shrine sa Pilipinas kabilang ang tatlong bagong talaga ng CBCP.

The Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph is normally celebrated on the Sunday after Christmas. This feast developed at the beginning of the 19th century in Canada and then spread to the entire Church in 1920. At first, it was celebrated on the Sunday after Epiphany. It is a Feast that seeks to portray the Holy Family of Nazareth as the โ€œtrue model of lifeโ€ (cf. Opening Prayer) from which our families can draw inspiration and know where to find help and comfort.
