Travel industry is a wonderful field especially if travel and leisure is your passion. Dubai as an open city is the place to be! Hub for diverse cultures and nationalities. Sadly, it's also the same industry that was greatly hit by Covid-19 recently. What's supposed to be a blossoming business during this season, led to a dry unprofitable situation. It was a devastating state for everyone, but the travel business has fallen down.

With the flight restrictions and uncertainty of flight availability, how can an agent sell a ticket to sustain the business of the company? Salary cut, force leave, work-from-home, addendum on the contract might be the new normal now for all. For how long can one survive the new norm? Amidst all these, travel agents endeavor to assist passengers in rebooking their flights, request airlines for refund, and monitor the next flight.

We are also the ears for the scream and grudge; a punching outlet of passengers for the delayed refund and changes of flight; A sponge that absorbs all burdens and sentiments, as we spend sleepless nights to monitor flights, new rules and chase airlines for updates and approvals; And to wake up for the same routine, we take the blow and rage, in silence as we dedicate to put forward what best to deliver. It may seem easy to think that the job is done once the ticket is issued. But it's the contrary as we are on standby till our client reaches his destination. Though we lose track of time ensuring that we provide proper information to passengers, maybe least to their knowledge, it's an achievement for us, agents, to see to it that we've taken part in reuniting them with their families and love ones.

Although it's true that booking nowadays can be done with a click away as everything is accessible online, it's still undeniably much reassuring to have someone to walk you through your options should there be inevitable changes on your booking. Skills may be learned, nurtured, and be taken to the next level. But it takes guts, compassion, and dedication to leave a mark to your passengers for them to entrust you their next journey.

During this pandemic crisis, it is a survival of the fittest. A test of faith and patience. This is a temporary set back. In the end, this industry will again rise and flourish. And the travel agents will remain at your service.
