Short-Film Editing Contest Guidelines
Theme:*
Breaking rabies boundaries
Objective:
The purpose of this video-making contest is to raise awareness about the ongoing fight against rabies and to inspire action of all individuals by highlighting the theme "ππ³π¦π’π¬πͺπ―π¨ ππ’π£πͺπ¦π΄ ππ°πΆπ―π₯π’π³πͺπ¦π΄." Participants are encouraged to create compelling and informative videos that showcase the prevention of rabies in humans and animals, responsible pet ownership, success stories, and challenges overcome in the battle against rabies. The contest aims to:
1. Educate the Public: Increase public awareness about the risks of rabies, the importance of vaccination, and the measures needed to prevent and control the disease in both humans and animals.
2.Promote Collaboration: Highlight the importance of collaboration between various sectors, including health, veterinary, and community organizations, to break down the barriers to rabies prevention and control.
3. Inspire Change: Encourage communities, governments, and organizations to take proactive steps in eliminating rabies and promote responsible pet ownership by sharing effective strategies and motivating others to join the fight.
4. Showcase Creativity: Provide a platform for individuals and groups to creatively express their understanding of the theme "ππ³π¦π’π¬πͺπ―π¨ ππ’π£πͺπ¦π΄ ππ°πΆπ―π₯π’π³πͺπ¦π΄" through visual storytelling.
Contest Mechanics:
1. Eligibility:
One (1) bonafide highschool learner per District from public school in Ormoc City Division.
Ormoc City Division private schools are also encouraged to join. One participant per private school.
Participants are required to present Enrolment Certification signed by the school head upon arrival.
Participants can enter as a team (Maximum of 4 members).
2. Film Specifications:
The short film should be between five (5) to seven (7) minutes in length, including credits.
Music and sound effects must either be royalty-free or original creations.
The film should reflect the theme: Breaking Rabies Boundaries
3. Editing Software:
Participants are free to use any video editing software of their choice.
Any special effects, transitions, and other editing techniques are allowed.
4. Submission Details:
The final edited film must be submitted in MP4 format, with a resolution of at least 1080p.
The deadline for submission is September 22, 2024.
Films should be uploaded to [email protected] and a submission form should be filled out (include the link or instructions).
5. Judging Process:
Judging will take place on September 23-26, 2024.
Winners will be announced on September 27, 2024.
6. Prizes:
1st Place: P5,000.00
2nd Place: P3,000.00
3rd Place: P2,000.00
All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
7. Judging Criteria:
Highlighting rabies prevention in humans and animals and promotion of responsible pet ownership (50%)
How well the film promote rabies prevention, encourage responsible pet
Ownership, and inspire social change
Editing Skills (30%)*
The technical proficiency demonstrated in the filmβs editing, including
transitions, pacing, and overall flow.
Visual and Sound Quality (20%)*
The visual appeal, coherence, and quality of the sound, including the use of effects and music.
