The UNESCO Philippine National Commission has announced that the country has submitted the practice of making Asin Tibuok, the artisanal sea salt of Bohol, as its 2025 Nomination to the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.
The dossier submission was prepared for seven months by the local Boholano community, specifically the concerned cultural bearers of Asin Tibuok making, such as the salt makers, pottery makers, and coconut farmers.
They were guided by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts with the Provincial Government of Bohol through the Center for Culture and the Arts Development, the Bohol Arts and Culture Heritage Council, the National Museum of the Philippines- Bohol, the Local Government Unit of Alburquerque, in submitting the dossier application,
