PUBLIC ADVISORY

PASAY CITY, March 5, 2023 – In anticipation of the effects of a planned transportation strike by various transport groups, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) urges all air passengers to give ample time from the usual three hours before flight departure time to be at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The week-long transport strike, which is expected to begin on Monday, March 6, may result to limited public transportation options for passengers traveling to and from the NAIA terminals.

Local airline companies and airline service providers have prepared contingency measures to ensure minimal, if not, no work interruption in their operations.

MIAA General Manager Cesar Chiong on the other hand, has directed for the deployment of MIAA shuttle buses to and from Dasmariñas Cavite for MIAA employees living in various parts of Cavite. Employees who live in nearby cities like Makati, Quezon City and Manila and those who reside in the Bulacan and Laguna areas are encouraged to consider staying in the office where temporary sleeping quarters will be made available for them. The former Nayong Pilipino administration building which MIAA now occupies, have several shower rooms that employees can also use.

"We are working closely with our stakeholders to mitigate the effect of the strike to NAIA operations. We are continuously monitoring the situation," said the airport chief.

Passengers are encouraged to monitor news reports in tri-media regarding transport situation in their areas and check the status of their flight before going to the NAIA to avoid inconvenience.

The riding public may contact the MIAA Hotline numbers or its social media pages as provided below:

MUST READ Enjoining all Travel Agencies and Travel & Tour Agencies to Advise Clients About Legitimate One Health Pass link

It has come to our attention that a number of passengers have been scammed and routed to a proxy server for the One Health Pass, a requirement for all international arriving individuals to the Philippines meant to serve as a border control intervention.

We have engaged the cooperation of Airlines, Embassies, and other agencies abroad to ensure that only the legitimate access to OHP is accessed; however, there are still some cases where our patrons fall victim to this modus.

DOT NCR would like to solicit the cooperation of all Travel & Tour Agencies to ensure that for those who will book in your respective establishment, inform them of the One Health Pass requirement by directing them to this legitimate link:

https://onehealthpass.com.ph/Registration/Step-1/

Your cooperation will be highly appreciated as we intensify border control due to the increasing incidence of COVID-19 lately.
