San Guillermo Parish Church 📍Bacolor Pampanga

San Guillermo Parish Church is a stunning example of Baroque architecture located in Bacolor, Pampanga. It is considered one of the most beautiful churches in the Philippines and is recognized as a National Cultural Treasure.

The church was built in 1576 but was destroyed in the catastrophic eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991. The lahar flow buried the church, leaving only the upper portion of the bell tower visible. It was later excavated and restored, making it one of the most visited tourist attractions in Pampanga.

Completed in 1970 and is the second tallest cross in the world at 95 meters high (312 ft) situated at the highest point of Mt. Samat in Bataan Philippines

Material:
steel and reinforced concrete finished with chipped granolithic marble

Importance:
dedicated to honor the heroism of the soldiers in Bataan who fought for freedom during the Second World War

This couple’s trip has encountered a lot of flight cancellations, unrefunded hotel bookings, fully booked hotels and what not. Despite that, they were able to have a couple of tours on last minute arrangement that they enjoyed and appreciated. Lucky to have been connected with them. ✨

Revisiting the Philippines 30years after. ❤️✨

This Aussie couple first visited the country for their honeymoon 30 years ago. Their joints may not be that strong anymore for walks and boat rides, but the love that they have has grown stronger through the years.
