Bega Falls Ecotourism Park, a Key Biodiversity Area and locally declared Local Conservation Area in Prosperidad, played host to the 8th National Wildlife Festival. Organized by the Philippine Biodiversity Conservation Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Caraga Region 13, the festival's Ecosystems Tour took place on November 29, 2024, in Prosperidad Municipality. The event drew participation from numerous senior high schools nationwide.

The Municipality of Prosperidad is honored to have been chosen as the host and extends its gratitude to all collaborators. Special thanks are given to the Prosperidad Mountaineering Club for the technical assistance, the Special Forces for securing the area, and the MDRRM Office for logistical and emergency support. The municipality also expresses its deep appreciation to Municipal Officials, led by Mayor Frederick Mark P. Mellana, and the 19th Sangguniang Bayan, led by Vice Mayor Jesusimo L. Ronquillo, for always supporting the tourism endeavors.

The tourism development goals aim to create a sustainable and thriving tourism industry. Increase tourist arrivals, revenue and local income. Create employment opportunities, improve tourism services and value for money tourist experience. By addressing these goals strategically, it can significantly boost its tourism sector, creating a sustainable cycle of growth and development that benefits both the visitors and the local communities.

The Department of Tourism - Caraga headed by RD Ivonnie Dumadag in collaboration with the Provincial Tourism Office headed by Provincial Tourism Officer, Ma’am Dannah Rufalyn Buquir conducted the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence training on November 5, 2024 at Ernielita’s Dormitel & Events Venue, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The Local Government Unit of Prosperidad, along with the business owners of different accommodation establishments, catering services and staff attended the training which aims to help them acquire and apply the techniques of interacting with costumers and handling costumer concerns.

This training will not be possible without the support of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Frederick Mark P. Mellana and Ma’am Noradel C. Martinez, Municipal Tourism Officer.

Accessible by all types of vehicles, serving as the starting point at Ean's Grill and Food House and ..., the Hub is 2 kilometers away from the Highway with a fully concreted road, passing through Puting Buhangin Elementary School, the Cave Hub can be found where the orientation of the tourists will be conducted.

❓Do you accept walk in?
No, we do not accept walk-ins. To explore Puting Buhangin Cave, please make a reservation in advance, specifying the number of people in your group. This allows us to ensure you have the necessary local guides for a safe and enjoyable experience.

❓How much is the fee for cave guides?
Each local cave guide has a fee of 500.00

❓How many cave guides will we need?
For 3 pax, you will need 1 guide.
For 5 pax, you will need 2 guides.
For 10 pax, you will need 3 guides.
Note: For groups larger than 10, please contact us to discuss guide requirements.
