TRAVEL ADVISORIES: AirAsia to be stricter with carry-on luggage
MANILA -- AirAsia said it will be stricter when it comes to implementing rules on carry-on baggage
In a statement, the low-cost carrier said each passenger is only allowed 7 kilograms--composed of 1 cabin baggage and 1 small personal item--on board.
The cabin baggage must be either a trolley bag or a backpack with a maximum dimension of 56 cm height, 36 cm width, and 23 cm (diameter) and must fit in the overhead storage compartment.
Meanwhile, the personal item may be a handbag or laptop bag with a maximum dimension of 40 cm height, 30 cm width, and 10 cm diameter, and must fit under the seat in front of the traveler.

Multiple items strapped, wrapped, or tied together are not counted as one piece, AirAsia said.
The airline also stressed that all items purchased at the airport form part of the cabin baggage allowance, and only duty-free items packed in a Security Tamper-Evident Bag (STEB) are exempt from cabin baggage allowance.
Any cabin baggage exceeding weight or size limits must be checked in, AirAsia said.
The budget liner said the baggage policy is expected to help flights leave on time, and make the boarding and disembarking processes smoother.
"Compliance also ensures fair access to overhead compartments for all guests, maintaining both safety and comfort,” AirAsia Communications and Public Affairs Head & First Officer Steve Dailisan said.

Cebu Pacific Advisory # 2
Baggage Handling System at NAIA Terminal 3
October 22, 2024; 7:30PM

Cebu Pacific (CEB) continues to work closely with the New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC) to address ongoing technical issues affecting the baggage handling system at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.

Both CEB and NNIC have deployed extra manpower to the airport to assist with manual loading of baggage from the counters, ensuring that passenger needs are met despite the technical issue at the airport.

CEB has established a dedicated team to manage the situation. Passengers on domestic flights may choose to either collect their bags at the airport or have them delivered to their destination or homes. For international flights, a similar option was available along with delivery services for passengers with onward destinations.

Our teams are doing everything in their power to expedite baggage deliveries and ensure all affected passengers are assisted promptly.

We understand the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate our passengers' patience and understanding.

👀 NAIA Terminal 1 has indeed installed CCTV cameras in the luggage arrival area, which is part of their efforts to enhance security and monitor baggage handling practices more closely. This initiative is aimed at preventing mishandling and ensuring better accountability among staff.

In addition to these upgrades, Terminal 1 offers various amenities such as free Wi-Fi, multiple charging stations, currency exchange services, and several dining options.

The installation of CCTV cameras is expected to improve passenger confidence in the handling of their luggage and reduce complaints related to damaged or mishandled bags.

JUST AN INQUIRY:
Are the more than 800 pilots and 2,000 cabin crew who have to park their cars overnight not exempt from paying the new steep overnight parking fees? As far as I know, they park their cars overnight around three times a month depending on their flights. So if they are out for three days, they will be compelled to pay 3,600 with the new fees, compared to 750 previously for parking.

I understand you want to make more parking space, but you should have also considered those who OPERATE THE PLANES! If planes don't fly in and out of an airport, then the airport is useless.

Do not also forget those passengers who have no choice but to do overnight parking in NAIA.

For me, before you jack-up fees beyond 100%, study everything and fix the airport first!!!

First time traveling to Hong Kong?

Here are some tips that might help you to have smooth experience at the airport.

1. Fill out your e-Travel 72 hours prior your trip. https://etravel.gov.ph/

2. Be at the Airport 3-4 hours before your flight, this will give you enough time to do other things prior your flight.

3. Check the montiors for your Flight status as this will give you idea if your flihgt is on time or delayed or worst cancel.

4. Once you reached airport, Pay for your Travel Tax for Tourist. Usually it is located in front of entrance or beside the Airline Counters.

5. You may now proceed to your Airline Counters, this time you can check in your baggage and get your Boarding Pass. Your boarding pass, indicates your Gate Number, Boarding Time and Flight Departure Time.

6. Once you have your boarding pass, you may now proceed to Immigration Lane, this is one of the most time consuming part, a combination of all travelers (Except Foreign Passport Holder) in one line. And wait for your turn.

Sample Immigration questions:
a. Where is travel destination?
b. What is your purpose of travel?
c. When is your travel back to Philippines?
d. Do you have return ticket?
e. Did you book accomodation? Where?
f. Whos with you?
g. Are you working in the Government or Private?

Immigation Tips:
a. Be honest and answer the questions one at a time.
b. Do not put too much words or explanation as this might arise new questions.
c. Supporting documents such as COE, Salary, Contract or Bank Certificate might go handy if ONLY asked.
d. Be confident and focus. Knowing your travel details is very important.

7. Once you have completed your Immigration Clearance, you may now proceed to XRAY, Stricly NO LIQUIDS more than 100ml, NO SHARP objects, Food restriction depends on your country of desitnation. Illigal Drugs, Aerosol are also not permitted. Check your airlines for more Items not allowed onboarding.

8. After X-RAY and you have time, you may also go for a Lounge located in the airport. They offer free Lounge for limited Credit Card holders. You may check it here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/8dAyWKbwbWTiUyv5/?mibextid=adzO7l

9. Please be mindful of your BOARDING TIME on your designated GATE NUMBER in your Boarding Pass.

10. Once the gate is open for Boarding, Congratulations! It is your time to go inside the aircraft and have a safe Flight!
