Ating tunghayan ang naganap na pagdiriwang ng ika- 128 anibersaryo ng paggunita ng Sigaw ng Pugad Lawin, na ginanap noong ika- 23 ng Agosto sa Dambana ng Pugad Lawin, Barangay Bahay Toro, Project 8, Quezon City.
Ang pagdiriwang ay dinaluhan ng mga opisyal mula sa Lungsod Quezon sa pamumuno ni Punong Lungsod Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte, kasama sina Pangalawang Punong Lungsod Gian Carlo G. Sotto, mga Miyembro ng Sangguniang Panlungsod, Kinatawan ng Unang Distrito Juan Carlos Atayde, Punong Barangay Victor Ferrer, Jr kasama ng kanyang mga opisyal, mga pinuno ng Kawani ng Pamahalaan, mga opisyal ng Quezon City Police District, Non-governmental Organizations, mga guro, at ang Panauhing Pandangal at Tagapagsalita, Tagapangulo ng Pambansang Komisyong Pangkasaysayan ng Pilipinas Propesor Regalado Trota Jose, Jr.
Sa pag gunita ng ika-146 na anibersaryo ng kapanganakan ng Ama ng Lungsod Quezon, ating tunghayan ang isang special video upang higit nating makilala ang buhay at mga naging kontribusyon ni Pangulong Manuel Luis Quezon sa kasarinlan ng ating bayan.

Urban Sketchers- QC and Urban Sketchers Global had a blast touring, learning from our Tourism Department’s tour guides who took them to our cultural sites, and sketched their way everywhere in QC!
This event happened from March 15-17,2024 around Quezon City starting at the stretch of the Maginhawa food community, the Quezon Heritage House, the Presidential Car Museum, Quezon Museum and Shrine and the QC Hall complex.
Urban Sketchers Global Executive Board is a group of foreign artists from different parts of the world advocating freedom of expression through “street art” activities and conducting several art workshops for free.
Urban sketching is an act of drawing or painting on location in the cities, towns, or villages that you live in and travel to. You are capturing a moment in time in a unique, artistic way.
The group was treated with a tour around the QC Memorial Circle and held several Free art sessions at the Social Hall of Quezon Heritage House.
Conferment of Gawad Tandang Sora
“Babae ka, hindi babae lang” – mga katagang nag-papaalala sa mga kababaihan ng kanilang halaga at kakayahan na maihahalintulad sa mga
kalalakihan.
Noong ika-14 ng Marso, ipanagdiwang ng Lungsod Quezon ang pag-gagawad ng parangal sa isang natatanging babae ng Lungsod Quezon, ito ay bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Kababaihan at ika- 85 na Anibersaryo ng Lungsod. Ang pag-bibigay ng Gawad Tandang Sora ay isang parangal na iginagawad sa natatanging babae ng Lungsod Quezon, na nagtataglay ng mga katangian ni Melchora Aquino o mas kilala bilang Tandang Sora.
Ngayong taon, ang dating Kalihim ng Kagawaran ng Kagalingan at
Pagpapaunlad Panlipunan na si Dr. Judy M. Taguiwalo ang kinilala bilang
Gawad Tandang Sora Awardee.
Ang pagdiriwang ay dinaluhan ng mga Opisyales ng Lungsod Quezon sa pangunguna ng Kagalang-galang Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte kasama ang mga Miyembro ng Konseho, Representante ng Ika-anim na Distrito Kagalang-galang Marivic Co-Pilar, Action Officers, Pinuno ng iba’t-ibang Departamento, mga Opisyales ng Barangay Tandang Sora, mga Ka-anak ni Melchora Aquino at mga Miyembro ng Komite ng Gawad Tandang Sora.

This year’s Chinese New Year in Quezon City was celebrated with three days filled with culinary delights, cultural shows, entertainment and fireworks display.
Among the major activities for three days were the Chinese Food, Arts and Crafts Fair from merchants who came from Pasay, Paranaque, Makati, Manila and San Juan.
Guests were entertained with a free concert from Autotelic, actor, Mr. Jake Cuenca and acoustic singer, Lirah.
The QC Filipino-Chinese Businessmen gave away the famous “Tikoy” and good luck charms for the guests and as prizes for the trivia and fun games.
Honorable Mayor Joy Belmonte graced the occasion along with the members of the City Council led by Majority floor-leader Coun. Doray Delarmente, Congressman Arjo Atayde of District One, Executive/ Department officials and the business groups from Fil-Chi led by Mr. Joaquin Co of QC Association of Filipino-Chinese Businessmen Inc, Mr Charles Chen of QC Chinatown Development Foundation Inc, and Mr David Chua of Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc.
The program was hosted by Ms. Gretchen Ho and Mr. Stanley Chi. A grand fireworks display was the culminating activity for the Chinese New Year.
QC Chinatown Lunar New Year
The Quezon City Government along with the Filipino-Chinese Business Associations embarked on a three-day celebration of the Chinese New Year this 2024. The 3-day event held last February 9-11 began with the first Quezon City Chinatown Heritage Tour which was participated by the media, content creators and friends from the business communities. The QC TOURISM Department who led the annual celebration curated the tour sites which were introduced for the first time to the participants.
Among the sites included in this curated tour were : Sheng Lian Temple, Tzu Chi Buddhist Humanitarian Temple, Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arch, WOW Toy Museum, D' Original Maki Haus, Hokki Dumpling, Mandarin Sky, Causeway Seafood Restaurant, Cai Hok Restaurant and David's Tea House. A sampling of the speciality dishes of these food stops were enjoyed by media and the content creators from sun-up to sun-down.
