At The World of Outbound, we believe that education must transcend the four walls of the classroom. It’s when theoretical knowledge meets real-life experiences that the symphony of learning truly begins.

In our ongoing pursuit of excellence in educational services, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 - a groundbreaking initiative made possible in partnership with Rex Education. This milestone was celebrated last Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Camp Capinpin (Tanay, Rizal), with the theme “Peace Education: Transforming Filipino Learners through Experiential Learning.”

During this momentous event, stories were shared, connections were built, and a new era of education was ushered in. It was also a proud moment for us to unveil the Armed Forces of the Philippines - Outbound Education Program, in conjunction with the Office of Civil-Military Operations. This program exemplifies the synergy between education and patriotism - reinforcing our shared commitment to nurturing well-rounded, socially responsible Filipino citizens.

We are deeply grateful to all our partner institutions who supported us in marking this occasion. Your unwavering dedication to experiential learning is vital as we collectively strive to foster a new generation of Filipino learners equipped not only with knowledge, but also with the skills and values necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Together, let’s continue to champion peace and the ongoing development of our learners through dynamic and transformative educational experiences.

We are a Quezon City-based company with a social quest; to bring Filipino learners to various natural and social destinations in and out of the country and immerse them in the real world, in real time and in real conditions. We do so because we believe that experiential education can create global citizens with a zeal to help build our nation.

We are looking for an 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 with the following qualifications:

- Female, preferably a graduate of accounting (underboard) and/or related field
- Knows basic accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Able to use accounting software such as Peachtree or Quickbooks
- Experience in bookkeeping for at least six (6) months.

Forest Bathing can be done in any green space, such as the grounds of the UP Diliman campus.

Our facilitator is a Certified Forest Bathing Guide, Forest Therapy Practitioner, and a member of the global network of Forest Therapy Hub.

Most notable result from these sessions are the big drop of Depression and Fatigue scores of the participants in their post-Forest Bathing TMD scores.

What is Forest Bathing?

Forest Bathing is a wellness practice that uses all your senses to connect with nature and access the healing power of the forest. Through this practice, your body and mind can be restored and strengthened, allowing you to achieve a sense of balance and well-being.

For almost 25 years, Lakbay Kalikasan has been reconnecting students with the natural and social environments.

Each Outbound Education module and trip - from tumbling waterfalls, vibrant reefs, to craggy mountains - contains rich, pedagogical insight covering not just the natural and social sciences, but applications in arts, physical education, and other areas of study.

This experiential engagement inspires the learner to build the necessary life-skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and global citizenship. These skills are interweaved between lectures, structured learning exercises, and outdoor activities which range from hiking caving, snorkeling or river-wading.

Above all, the Lakbay Kalikasan experiences also help build the lives of the communities that are frequented. Its partner communities and organizations are tapped to provide local guides that equip them with additional income during student season. Given the volume of students, patronizing existing entrepreneurial outposts like sari-sari stores and pasalubong kiosks can uplift the community's livelihood.

Reconnecting with the natural and social environments builds two things: acquiring skills for the learner and building lives of the greater society.

Forest Bathing is a well-being practice of immersing in the atmosphere of the forest using all your senses. The practice of Forest Bathing or “Shinrin-Yoku” originated in Japan in 1982 as a government effort to address the health crisis causing many deaths and illnesses due to overwork.

Studies have shown that Forest Bathing can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve cardiovascular health, boost immunity, increase Natural Killer cells (cancer fighting cells), reduce inflammation, and improve social skills. These are just some of the documented benefits of the practice.

While walking slowly along the forest, participants can connect with nature, their companions, and their inner selves using all the senses. It only takes as little as 20 minutes a day, or 2 to 3 hours a week to feel its beneficial effects that can last from one week to a month.
