How it all Started
The founding members of SODOP were Drex Oarde and Brenda Depasupil, who have discussed exploring business opportunities during the course of the Gl1tter Recital Workshops in May 2016, when both encountered obstacles in sourcing pole-related items, such as grip aids, etc. They initially planned on buying items from the US, and then reselling it in Manila through Facebook and friends from class. They approached Nyla Golez for advice in one of their rehearsals, who in turn counselled them that for a first-timer it would be best if the business will not carry inventory nor entail manufacturing items. Nyla Golez suggested the Lotto Outlet Business with a reasonable initial capital for a partnership of five investors. Abad were approached as probable investors in a small-scale business venture during one of the “Sexy Shuttle” (carpool) trips to the dance studio. Brenda Depasupil added that like any sound business, the primary goal of SODOP is to have a solid return of investment. It is in this regard that the first SODOP business meeting had been convened in order to chart the direction of the company, and to steer it towards a course that will provide a profitable and fulfilling experience for everyone involved. The SODOP Logo is an iconic representation of the Goddess Sodop in profile with ancient Philippine Baybayin characters spelling “Ginto (Gold)” from the nape to the forehead. The word mark “SODOP” is interpreted as gold bars signifying masculine energy for “wealth,” over emerald green “Trading Inc.” symbolizing feminine energy for “prosperity.”
