Another milestone training and program for our tourism stakeholders, marble industry players and tour guides all around the province spearheaded by Romblon Municipality thru the leadership of Mayor Atty. Gerard S. Montojo.

This joint tripartite agreement brought together government, trade industry, tourism sector and labor force in an effort to reduce unemployment in the Province.

Through this MOA signing it will elevate the degree of sustainable tourism development and marble trade industry in terms of sustainable livelihood programs for our community surrounding our tourist sites and tourist destinations in the Province of Romblon.

It is not the tallest falls in the island of Sibuyan, but it has the calmest cascades around. The very accessible and easiest to reach Falls is simply a gem at the end of a maze of garms, forest, and dirt pathwalk.

With several low levels of falls is quite short, but the width of the falls spans about 20-30 meters! However, it can be considered the little swimming pool because of its slope like entry to the bas of the falls.

How to Get There:
If you are arriving in Magdiwang Port, it will take you 30-40min tricycle or motorcycle ride going to the area. The main entrance is just right beside the road so it is hard to miss because of its huge signage. The entrance fee is 10 for the locals and around 15-20 pesos for tourist.

Welcome to ANRADOON HILL.

ANRADOON HILL - one of the most popular viewpoint in Simara Island, with spectacular view over the rolling hills and a direct look towards the Suba Cove and plains of Barangay Mangansag and San Roque. The view doesn’t come easy though, to reach the summit, you need to trek of 824 steps. In the piercing sun of Simara, this is a challenge that leaves many drenched in sweat and gasping for breath once they reach the top. It is famous for the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes located at the summit offers devotees a place to go and pray and pray during Lenten Season

THE FATHER OF ALL MAPS OF THE PHILIPPINES - The Murillo Velarde Map 1734

This magnificent map of the Philippine archipelago, drawn by the Jesuit Father Pedro Murillo Velarde (1696--1753) and published in Manila in 1734, is the first and most important scientific map of the Philippines.

The Philippines were at that time a vital part of the Spanish Empire, and the map shows the maritime routes from Manila to Spain and to New Spain (Mexico and other Spanish territory in the New World), with captions.

In the upper margin stands a great cartouche with the title of the map, crowned by the Spanish royal coat of arms flanked each side by an angel with a trumpet, from which an inscription unfurls.

The map is not only of great interest from the geographic point of view, but also as an ethnographic document. It is flanked by twelve engravings, six on each side, eight of which depict different ethnic groups living in the archipelago and four of which are cartographic descriptions of particular cities or islands.

According to the labels, the engravings on the left show: Sangleyes (Chinese Philippinos) or Chinese; Kaffirs (a derogatory term for non-Muslims), a Camarin (from the Manila area), and a Lascar (from the Indian subcontinent, a British Raj term); mestizos, a Mardica (of Portuguese extraction), and a Japanese; and two local maps--one of Samboagan (a city on Mindanao), and the other of the port of Cavite.

On the right side are: various people in typical dress; three men seated, an Armenian, a Mughal, and a Malabar (from an Indian textile city); an urban scene with various peoples; a rural scene with representations of domestic and wild animals; a map of the island of Guajan (meaning Guam); and a map of Manila

What was said by you, the Philippine Tourism Minister Christina, that Qatar today has entered to be one of the major [partnership] to develop tourism, has made me proud of my country because we love the Philippines. Qatar is a major partner and we are very happy that Manila, as one of my colleagues said– is one of the best destination for Muslim tourism, halal tourism. I will share about the quality of the manpower of employees from the Philippines. We are proud and my travel agent that 40% of my manpower are from the Philippines. We love the Philippines.
