The Municipality of Sagada will be conducting a testing process on August 24-28, 2021 to review mechanisms that would be put in place once Sagada formally opens its doors to tourism.
Select individuals from the Department of Tourism, Local Government Units, and stakeholders in the greater tourism industry within the Cordillera Administrative Region have been invited to partake in the dry run.
The dry run will include the testing and evaluation of the following:
• online registration system which will limit the entry of guests in the Municipality
• validation of registered guests and compliance to requirements imposed
• capability of stakeholders for guest management amidst the pandemic
• experience of new tour packages which will include the agricultural sector in the promotion of tourism within the community
The testing process will provide for baseline data and relevant feedback that will aid for the improvement of current preparations made. It will also gauge the readiness of the Municipality with regard to the reopening of tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Invited participants are required to adhere to COVID-19 testing requirements and they must have completed a COVID-19 vaccine regimen (i.e. full vaccination) prior to entry. They will also be required to limit their movement to the identified activities during the dry run.
