The TAKLOBO TOURS Operation will be suspended today, May 23, 2023 as we pay our last tribute to our ADUFOR President, Ruben R. Martin and we join his bereaved family during the interment.

[IN MEMORIAM] Davao del Norte State College mourns the passing of Mr. Ruben R. Martin, giant clam conservation advocate and president of Adecor United Fisherfolk Organization (community counterpart of DNSC in managing the Taklobo Tours in the Island Garden City of Samal).

Sir Ruben was one of the signatories of the Memorandum of Agreement that sealed the partnership of the community and DNSC in advancing giant clam conservation in the Marine Reserve Park (MRP) in Barangay Adecor and in sustaining it to become an ecotourism and livelihood initiative that benefits both people and the planet. He was also part of the pioneering local tour guides for Taklobo Tours and had served the organization for ten years.

We remember him by celebrating his leadership and commitment to leaving a better world for his community and for generations to come.

Fair weather to your sail out to the Heavenly Seas, Sir Ruben!
