CRITERIA FOR SINGING CONTEST

VOICE SOUND QUALITY
(The quality and individual characteristics of the voice.) 30%

RHYTHM & TEMPO
(The voice in relation to the music.) - 25%

VOCAL EXPRESSION
(How well the performer can express the meaning and mood of the song.) - 25%

STAGE PRESENCE
(The physical expression of the song in terms of the overall visual presentation of the performance on stage.) - 10%

ENTERTAINMENT VALUE
(The audience and judge’s reaction to the overall performance.) - 10%

1. The contest is open to all Sampalukins.

3. Entrant will sing any Christmas song, OPM (Original Filipino Music) or Foreign.
4. Three judges will score the contestants. In the event of a tie, a “sing-off” will be held.
5. Entrant involved in the tie will be given 10 minutes to select another song.
6. All scores are final as received from the judges.
7. Giving false information on the entry form is a reason for immediate disqualification.
8. Songs containing profanity are NOT permitted and may result in immediate disqualification.
9. Additional rules and eligibility requirements may be announced prior to the beginning of the contest.
10. All participants agree to abide by these rules.
11. Any violation of these rules shall be grounds for immediate disqualification and forfeiture of their prize.
12. These rules may be changed or modified any time.

PRESS RELEASE| 𝐃𝐓𝐈 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐙𝐎𝐍 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥

In line with the Philippine Creative Industries Development Plan to develop the creative industries and elevate Filipino creativity, the Department of Trade and Industry Region 4-A, in partnership with the DTI-Competitiveness and Innovation Group and the City Government of General Trias, will embark on strengthening its region’s creative industry by conducting its very first regional arts and creative festival entitled, “Fiesta Haraya 2024: Likha at Husay ng CALABARZON,” on November 27 to December 1, 2024 at the Robinsons General Trias, General Trias City, Cavite.

Fiesta Haraya is a portmanteau of two words representing Filipino tradition. Fiesta is a Spanish word for party or festivity. Haraya is an old Filipino word, which means imagination or vision. For the event’s official tagline, “Likha” means create while “Husay” means skilled. The tagline basically signifies the services and crafts made from the expertise and brilliance of the creative people in the CALABARZON region.

The festival will showcase an array of creative goods through a trade fair, performances from artists and artisans, demonstrations and workshops from creative experts, and information campaigns from partner government agencies and private sector in the region. Through this activity, the DTI 4-A aims to help promote local arts and culture, encourage collaboration and networking, support existing and emerging entrepreneurs from different creative clusters, and foster creative entrepreneurship, competitiveness, and innovation.

Each province in the region will have several performances each day to showcase its arts, culture, and creativity. Some of the most anticipated activities in the festival are: a fashion show featuring handcrafted clothes, accessories, and footwear from Laguna designers and the province’s fruit carving, word, and embroidery demonstration; Cavite’s marching band, spoken word poetry, and painting exhibition; Batangas’ calado style of embroidery demonstration, folk dance performance, and theater arts performance; Rizal’s Higantes parade and bonsai workshop; and Quezon’s kiping making demonstration and cultural dance performances highlighting the Tagayan Ritual and Kiping-making demonstration. Information kiosks and services from the DTI and other partner agencies will also be available for the public such as business name registration, consumer welfare desk, business loan assistance, among others.

“We invite everyone, especially our micro, small, and medium enterprises, people from the creative industry sector, students, consumers, and creative communities, to visit our festival and celebrate with us as we build a robust creative ecosystem and develop vibrant and sustainable creative industries in our region,” said DTI 4-A Regional Director Marissa C. Argente.
