READ: NO MORE MANDATORY SWAB TESTS UPON ARRIVAL, NEGATIVE RT-PCR RESULT REQUIRED
Effective March 15, those traveling to Negros Occidental will not be anymore required to undergo mandatory RT-PCR test and quarantine, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said on Thursday.
However, Lacson said travellers will be required to present a negative result of RT-PCR test from their place of origin 72 hours before arrival in the province.
The governor is set to issue an executjve order on this matter.
This is in compliance with Resolution 101 of the national Inter-Agency Task Force.
The governor said he will meet with the Negros Occidental mayors informing them about the implememtation of Resolution 101 on Monday.
Resolution 101 of the IATF states that RT- PCR testing shall not be mandatory for traveler except if the LGU ofdestination (province with respect to their municipalities and componentcities, and highly urbanized cities [HUCs] and independent component
cities [ICCs]) will require testing as a requirement prior to travel, and suchshall be limited to RT-PCR; andno traveler shall be required to undergo quarantine unless they exhibitsymptoms upon arrival at the LGU of destination.
The Resolution also states thatTravel Authority issued by Joint Task Force COVID Shield and healthcertificates shall no longer be required.
Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APORs) from national
government agencies and their attached agencies must provide theiridentification card, travel order, and travel itinerary, and must passsymptom- screening at ports of entry and exit pursuant to IATF ResolutionNo. 98-A issued on February 4, 2021.
