The Philippine Department of Tourism in partnership with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) and the Province of Ilocos Norte inaugurated the first Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in Northern Luzon, situated in the home province of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
This historic event took place last May 17, 2024, at Saud Beach, Pagudpud, which was awarded as one of the Top 25 Best Beaches in the World by Travel and Leisure Magazine in 2022.
