𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗚-𝗟𝗨 𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗔𝗢𝗜𝗗 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰

The Association of Active Tour Guides of La Union, Inc. (AsTG-LU), headed by Association President Randall B. Brioso, played an active role in the Taoid 2024 event organized by the City Government of San Fernando, La Union on September 21, 2024. This engaging event brought together 36 youth leaders from across the city, fostering a sense of community and cultural awareness.

AsTG-LU guides led the youth participants through significant cultural and historical sites, including the Pindangan Ruins, which reflect the city’s rich history; the Bacsil Ridge Monument, commemorating a key event in Philippine history; and Ibit’s Farm, which showcases local agricultural practices and community life. The itinerary also included visits to the City Hall and the newly installed Gregorio “Bunog” Hufano Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall, highlighting the evolution of the city alongside its historical landmarks. Additionally, participants explored the La Union Science Centrum and Botanical Garden, both of which emphasize the city’s commitment to environmental education and scientific advancement. The inclusion of the La Union Botanical Garden provided young leaders with valuable insights into local flora and the importance of biodiversity, reinforcing the connection between cultural heritage and environmental stewardship.

This inaugural event aimed to foster a deeper appreciation for San Fernando City’s cultural heritage among the youth, encouraging them to engage with and promote their cultural identity. The active involvement of AsTG-LU guides not only enriched the participants' experiences but also empowered them to take an active role in preserving their local history.

AsTG-LU remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders and heritage advocates, ensuring that the rich cultural heritage of La Union is preserved and celebrated for years to come.
