Sa lahat ng mga nagpaplanong maligo sa dagat. Lalo na sa mga dagat na di pa stablished patungkol sa safety and security ng mga maliligo.

Be very careful sa mga jellyfishes.

Kahit anong itsura or kulay nito wag niyo pong lapitan.

Pwede niyo rin ipa alam sa kina uukulan na may mga jellyfish para sa safety ng maliligo.

Itong nasa picture ang pinakadelikado sa lahat.

Ang tawag rito ay Box Jllyfish. May estimate na 20 to 40 ang namamatay nito sa Pilipinas.

Yung venom ay nasa tentacles niya. Parang maliliit na stingers na naiiwan sa balat. Yung mga stingers na naiwan sa balat ay magrerelease pa ng venom continuesly.

Pwedeng mamatay nito within minutes to 48 hours.

Ang mga signs ng dangerous reaction ay:

severe pain in the body (back, abdomen and chest)
increased heart rate
trouble breathing
anxiety and sweating
nausea and vomiting

Dapat dalhin kaagad sa hospital kung ganon.

Di naman lahat delikado ang reaction sa jellyfishes.

Ang first aid for mild cases ay:

1. Hugasan ng s**a ang balat dahil mild acid ang s**a na lelesen ang firing ng stingers ng poison sa katawan.

2. Hugasan lang ng tubig dagat muna. Wag fresh water kasi mas magrelease daw lalo ng poison ang stingers kung fresh water.

3. Di daw totoo ang ihi. S**a mas effective.

4. Don’t rub the area kasi nakakastimulate ng firing ng stingers

5. Tweezers ang pangkuha ng mga stingers na nasa balat upang di mapiga. Don’t scrape with credit cards.

6. Sa cream pwede Calamine or Hydrocortisone to lessen the pain.

7. If wala ng stingers na iwan sa balat pwedeng cold compress, warm showers can help.

Prevention is better than cure. Check the area first before jumping.

So magdala nalang ng tweezers at s**a kahit walang planong magkinilaw.
