Due to the Rice Tariffication law, Filipino rice farmers lost a total of 68 billion pesos last year. This is double than what consumers saved due to lower prices of the grain.

In our opinion, this is a terrible policy, marginally benefiting consumers at a huge expense of our 5 million farmers.

The profits earned from prioritizing our local farmers could be used on improving agriculture technology, yield, quality of produce, skills of our farmers.

Please buy local when you can and support Filipino farmers.

Bayatakan Farm Experience taking place this Friday, 7th February.

Bayatakan Farm Experience is a day tour of the farm located an hour away from General Luna. The tour will give you a deeper appreciation of Filipino culture and cuisine. Throughout the day, you will have hands on farming and cooking education, delicious food and drinks, and plenty of options to unwind and relax in nature.

We leave General Luna at 9am and back by 330pm. Meeting spot in in Lamari, along tourism road in General Luna, at 9am and in Common Ground in Pacifico at 10am. Transport is included.

Please bring sun block, a hat and your swimsuit.

1800 pesos per person
1000 pesos per local or resident of Siargao

A deposit of 500 pesos per tour is required prior to the trip.

Please do not ask for discounts. All profit made from the tour is shared evenly with the the farmers we work closely with. Looking forward to seeing you on the tour! @ Siargao Island, Philippines

Last November 14, Analyn, our partner and the owner of Bayatakan Farm, won a Regional Gawad Saka award from the Department of Agriculture! Bayatakan Farm is the only diversified farm in the Caraga Region that produces high valued crops and herbs using a natural farming system. Five years ago when Analyn started the farm, it was a challenge for her to grow these crops in an island environment due to the brackish water and the erratic climate. It would've been easier for her to do chemical farming, however, she was determined to make natural farming work. 5 years later, after learning from several workshops and trainings, trial and errors and many different types of experiments, she has more than 20 different type of crops- vegetables, herbs and fruit trees. From a nurse in Manila to a farmer in Siargao- Analyn believes that nurturing plants without the use of any chemicals but only natural concoctions and fertilizers is her way of promoting a healthy lifestyle. This is already her third award this year and this December, she's competing for the title as Best Rural Women in the Philippines. Let's all wish her luck! We're very lucky to learn from and be partners with this amazing woman! 🌱
