NEW SOUTH WALES (SYDNEY) AND VICTORIA (MELBOURNE) EASE TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FOR RETURNING AUSTRALIAN CITIZENS, PERMANENT RESIDENTS
To our valued passengers:
Please be advised that effective November 1, 2021, Australian citizens, permanent residents, and their immediate family members will be eligible to enter New South Wales (via Sydney) and Victoria (via Melbourne) without quarantine arrangements provided that they are fully-vaccinated and comply with document requirements.
A traveler must be fully-vaccinated with any of the following vaccine brands recognized by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA):
- COVID-19 Pfizer Comirnaty
- AstraZeneca Vaxzevria
- Janssen-Cilag (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19
- Moderna Spikevax
- Coronavac (Sinovac)
- Covishield (AstraZeneca/Serum Institute of India)
An individual is considered ‘fully-vaccinated’ if he/she have completed a course of an approved or recognized vaccine:
‒ two doses at least 14 days apart of: AstraZeneca Vaxzevria, AstraZeneca Covishield, Pfizer/Biontech Comirnaty, Moderna Spikevax, Sinovac Coronavac
‒ or one dose of: Janssen-Cilag COVID Vaccine.
Note: Seven days must have passed since the final dose of vaccine.

Children under 12 years of age arriving with fully-vaccinated parents and people with valid medical exemptions will be considered fully-vaccinated.
Please be ready with a vaccination certificate in the form of a digital or paper certificate.
Sydney bound passengers must present a negative RT-PCR result taken within 72 hours and a duly accomplished Australia Travel Declaration at least 72 hours before flight departure.

Melbourne bound passengers will be required to test negative to COVID-19 within 72 hours of departure and will be required to undertake testing within 24 hours of arrival.

Unvaccinated individuals, and those who have received vaccines that are not approved/recognized by TGA must quarantine for a period of 14 days. An arrival cap for these passengers will apply.
Non-Australian citizens and non-permanent residents are not allowed to enter Australia, unless a travel exemption is secured from the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

Also effective November 1, 2021, Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate families will be able to travel outside Australia without a travel exemption, on the condition that they are fully-vaccinated.

Passengers vaccinated in Australia must present an Australian Government-issued international COVID-19 Certificate (ICVC) upon check-in.
Foreign vaccination certificates are deemed acceptable on the following conditions:
- Issued by a national or state/provincial-level authority or an accredited vaccination provider (e.g. doctor, nurse, or pharmacy)
- Written in English (If not in English, it must be accompanied by a certified translation that includes a stamp or membership number of a professional translation association)
- Shows the passenger’s full name (as shown in passport), either date of birth or passport number, vaccine brand, and the date of each dose or the date on which the passenger completed a full course of immunization.
There is no need for a pre-departure COVID-19 test for outbound international travel. However, some countries may still require testing upon entry.
