Traveling is liberating isn’t it?

It frees the mind, and makes space to learn something new. It opens up the senses and taste buds to a more adventurous palette. It heals the soul to no end, and you come back home feeling rejuvenated. Perhaps a little wiser, a little more positively charged, with memories to keep for a lifetime.

Do you think now is the best time to explore your own country? Yes or No?

Tourism is an important sector for Philippine economy so they say, and during this Pandemic... it got hit hard. But what can we do?

In keeping with the protocols, we do not encourage rebels to take the leap and just travel around. Understand that this is the NEW NORM. Perhaps regulated travel would be the best time now since social distancing is required. Filipinos are the no.1 travelers of our own country to begin with. I believe we can work our way around this.

SO WHAT DO WE SUGGEST? (5 Ideas)

1) Explore Your Own Turf - If you weren't a fan of discovering new places, food or leisure around your area... now is the right time.

2) Explore Turfs Near You That You Have Access To - Again, it should be regulated, but don't you think it's high time that you explore places you have access to, especially if you love to travel, you might be surprised.

3) Support Local - Tourism was working ways for foreign investors to come in. That might be good to give work to locals, but what if with our struggling economy we let locals run the show? Small businesses are emerging because a lot got laid off. Wouldn't it help the economy more if more locals have businesses?

4) Bayanihan Act In Tourism Revival - Start with your own community and communities near you. Discover new food and authentic home made goodies, this could go a long way especially to smalls startups during these trying times.

5) Travel So You May Breathe Freely - A lot in travel destinations give you the luxury of space. With a properly regulated tour, social distancing, we can breathe without restriction. Other details you can go figure or research.

ONE BREATH

People all over the world are getting exploited by a virus CROWNED AS CORONA. A virus that infects and obstructs passage of normal air flow in one’s lungs. Today, it had been an ongoing battle TO BREATHE.

In the brink of all of this, there is a LESSON. If only we listen intently amidst the chaos and noise that media generates.

As I look out the window, a beautiful clear blue sky is in view. Never have I seen the skyline as clearly as I have now. THE EARTH IS HEALING... and so should we. While we all inhale from the same air, some are fighting for their last breath. I hope we know now what a privilege it is to breathe. I hope while we complain of our boredom, we realize how some don’t even have food on their plates. I hope as we write down how we want to prove which politician is better, a Taho vendor chose to offer Taho (sweetened silken tofu snack) for free to our front-liners. I hope we all realize, that all of this is a TEST OF CHARACTER. I hope we set aside our ego, our pride and cling on compassion. Right now, this is not a platform to say who is wrong and who is right, but more of taking responsibility. Right before we start pointing fingers, have we asked ourselves… what have I contributed so far?

Below is a seed list to encourage faith in humanity:

1) Some businesses voluntarily stopped collecting
commercial lease during this crisis.
2) Some businesses had offered free lodging for Grocery
Crews due to difficulty in commuting.
3) Some business owners, citizens and even celebrities
have rented vehicles to offer transportation to our front-liners.
4) Some people have built satellite kitchens to offer free
food for the less fortunate
5) A vendor offers food he sells for free to front-liners.
6) Business owner send groceries to their freelancers to
secure them for a week.
7) OJT Nurses stayed to assist in hospitals, despite their
superiors ordering them to go home.
8) People are calling loved one’s to check on them, and
messaging front-liners they personally know to give
some words of encouragement or as simple as saying
“Thank you”.
9) People choosing to do silly things online to keep sane
and share good vibes.
10) People distributing helpful and reliable information online
to flatten the curve.
11) People PRAYING for the rest of the world’s healing.

WE CAN DO MORE IF WE CHOOSE TO

COMPASSION is a word that could save. A word we were lacking before the universe had an ironic twist of turning the tables to our disadvantage. COMPASSION. To not care for just ourselves, but to care for others. Then maybe, just maybe, the universe will spare us compassion as well. This virus chooses NO TITLE, NO HEIRARCHY, NO STATUS QUO. If you have the power and money, during this time, what will you do with that power? If you are the less privileged, would you choose to commit a crime to survive? To each their own. What you do today is your choice and your choice affects everyone, yourself included. If we have COMPASSION, perhaps no one will steal. No one will try to get ahead just because they are in a high ranking position. If we have COMPASSION FOR ONE ANOTHER, we stand a good chance.

We are praying for everyone's safety. God Bless
