PAL Advisory on Typhoon ‘Karding’

We are closely monitoring the track of Super Typhoon ‘Karding’ (international codename: “Noru”), which is expected to cross through parts of central and northern Luzon and affect other areas of the Philippines tonight (September 25 – Sunday) and tomorrow (September 26 – Monday).

Flights to and from Manila (MNL) are still slated to operate today. Nonetheless, if the storm remains on its current path, Philippine Airlines may have to cancel certain flights or adjust schedules for urgent safety reasons.

If you are traveling on a flight to/from Metro Manila, Clark or one of the affected areas on September 25 or 26, we recommend that you check the status of your flight before proceeding to the airport. ALL DOMESTIC FLIGHTS RETURN TO TERMINAL 1

Cebu, Philippines – Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) shall operate all Domestic Departures and Arrivals at Terminal 1 (T1) effective 15 October 2022, 00:01 PST. Effectively, Terminal 2 (T2) shall be dedicated for all International Departures and Arrivals.

MCIA continues to experience increased domestic traffic with domestic demand now at 67% of pre-pandemic levels. In the same period of 2019, daily average at MCIA tipped at 35,000 passengers for domestic and international. International traffic continues to take increased traffic from Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. In the next months, MCIA is also expecting resumption of flights from Hong Kong and China.

MCIA remains committed in ensuring smooth airport experience for its passengers and stakeholders. Thank you for your usual cooperation and understanding.

Reminder – Pork Ban on domestic flights

To our valued passengers:

We wish to remind everyone that it is prohibited to carry any type of pork, including pork-related products and by-products, whether raw, processed or cooked, in hand-carry and/or checked in baggage when flying to the following domestic destinations:

• Bacolod (BCD)
• Butuan (BXU)
• Cagayan de Oro (CGY)
• Caticlan (MPH) – except when coming from another point in the Visayas region
• Davao (DVO)
• Dipolog (DPL)
• General Santos (GES)
• Iloilo (ILO)
• Kalibo (KLO)
• Puerto Princesa (PPS)
• Roxas (RXS)
• Tagbilaran (TAG)
• Antique (EUQ)
• Zamboanga (ZAM)

While it is a temporary measure, this ban will stay in effect until revoked by the concerned local government health authorities. The ban was imposed to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) in vulnerable areas of the Philippines.

For a hassle-free journey, please ensure you are not carrying any of the above pork products.

Narito ang latest updates on TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS specifically for those passengers bound to Negros Province (Bacolod Port), Aklan Province including Boracay (Caticlan Port), at Iloilo City.
Ang mga impormasyong ito ay ayon sa mga requirements na inilabas ng local government unit (LGU) ng nasabing destination.

Additional notes:
For Negros Province (Bacolod Port):
- For Partially vaccinated and Unvaccinated passengers, Rapid Antigen test result to be conducted free of charge upon arrival. The province will also honor Non-Reactive Rapid Antigen test result prior to travel, valid for 48 hours from date of swab sample extraction.

For Caticlan:
- S-Pass is still required for all inbound travelers upon entry.

For Iloilo City:
- Negative RT-PCR test result is still required for Partially vaccinated and Unvaccinated passengers. However, they are no longer mandated to submit themselves to NPS/OPS RT-PCR testing upon arrival and will also not be required to undergo quarantine.
- Age of accompanying minors has been changed to 11 years old below (previously from 5 to 17 years old).
- S-Pass will no longer be required upon entry.

ANNOUNCEMENT‼️‼️‼️:

Starting March 1, 2022, Puerto Princesa City will lift the alert level status to its lowest (1).
In relation to this, all inbound travelers to Puerto Princesa City are no longer required to apply for an S-PASS Travel Coordination Permit (TCP).

New Travel Protocols and Requirements for PPC Inbound travellers will be posted on March 3 after Local IATF Meeting.

Existing inbound protocols and requirements will still be applicable until March 2,2022.
