IGEEI SURVEY REVEALS YOUTH'S TOP-RANKED GOVERNORS AND PRIORITIES IN LUZON

The Institute for Global Education Exchange and Internship (IGEEI) has released its findings from the Youth Satisfaction and Trust Ratings Survey, which evaluated Luzon’s provincial governors based on their governance, programs, and leadership. The results highlight the top-performing leaders while providing insights into the priorities of Luzon’s youth.

Youth satisfaction ratings ranged from 65% to an impressive 89%. Leading the rankings were Hon. Daniel R. Fernando of Bulacan, Hon. Susan A. Yap of Tarlac, and Hon. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III of Bataan. These governors stood out for their transparency, youth-focused programs, and effective responses to key issues like disaster preparedness and education. High satisfaction also aligned with strong trust ratings, emphasizing the importance of consistent and credible leadership.
The survey, conducted from November 15 to December 15, 2024, engaged 10,000 respondents aged 18 to 30 years from diverse socio-economic backgrounds across Luzon. Data collection utilized a mix of online surveys, face-to-face interviews, and telephone interviews.

Ten key priorities emerged as critical for youth when evaluating their leaders. Transparency and accountability ranked highest, with 92% of respondents identifying it as “very important.” This was followed by disaster preparedness and recovery programs (88%) and access to education, employment, and youth empowerment initiatives (84%). Other significant factors included environmental sustainability, inclusive governance, and infrastructure development that balances progress with environmental preservation.

Youth respondents also valued leaders who engage with their constituents directly, especially through social media, and who preserve local culture while presenting a clear vision for their province’s future. Proactive leadership and innovative governance solutions further enhanced youth satisfaction and trust.

The findings demonstrate the growing role of Luzon’s youth as active participants in governance. Their priorities reflect a demand for leaders who are transparent, inclusive, and forward-thinking. The survey serves as both a recognition of high-performing governors and a guide for leaders to strengthen connections with their youth constituents.

The IGEEI Youth Satisfaction and Trust Ratings Survey is part of the Institute for Global Education Exchange and Internship's broader initiative to promote informed citizenship and excellence in governance across Luzon. By highlighting the achievements of top-performing governors and reflecting the priorities of the youth, the survey fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and transformative leadership. It reinforces IGEEI’s mission to empower young people as active participants in governance and inspire leaders to align their strategies with the evolving needs of their constituents.

The Binibining Kanlahi and Ginoong Kanlahi 2025 candidates officially began their pageant journey with the all-important candidate's orientation, contract signing, official numbering, and measurement taking at the historic Old SP Hall, Tarlac Provincial Capitol. Organized and facilitated by Gouldian Events and Tarlac Tourism Office, this milestone marks the first step toward showcasing the pride and culture of Tarlac.

The annual Asian Waterbird Census was recently conducted at the Canarem Lake and Bird Sanctuary. 🦢🌿🦆

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Tarlac, the Municipality of Victoria, Provincial Government of Tarlac and Tarlac Provincial Tourism Office collaborated to do a rapid census of the various birds in the area.

We’re holding an open screening to select the official representatives for each municipality on January 13-14, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Diwa ng Tarlac.

Applicants must be:
1. 18-27 years old
2. At least 5'7 in height
3. Natural-born male, single, and has never fathered a child.
4. Good moral character, good mental and physical health.
5. Filipino citizen born in or a resident of Tarlac Province. Must provide documents to prove his roots or residency (Birth Certificate indicating one of the parents was born in Tarlac, Barangay Certificate, Voter's ID)

We were honored to have esteemed historians Dr. Lino Dizon and Dr. Xiao Chua discuss insightful lectures during the inauguration and blessing of the newly renovated CPRML - Tarlac Provincial Library.

Dr. Lino Dizon explored the history of our province with his lecture titled "The Beginnings of Tarlac Province (1571–1873)."

Dr. Xiao Chua inspired us with his talk, "Mr. United Nations: Heneral Carlos P. Romulo at ang Ambag ng Tarlakenyo sa Kapayapaan ng Sangkatauhan."
