Do you want to have an exclusive experience of the Lenten Season? There is a place up in Cagayan Valley you could visit during Holy Week – the Calvary Hills of Iguig. It is located within the grounds of the Spanish colonial era church of Iguig, Cagayan, the Church of San Antonio de Galicia.

Calvary Hills takes pride in its 11 hectares of rolling terrain upon which lies the life-size images of six-meter high statues depicting the 14 Station of the Cross. This site was created in 1982 and conceived by parish priest Rogelio Cortez. It is a good destination for many devotees because it provides a memorable pilgrimage during the Holy Week.

Buntun Bridge is a river bridge from Tuguegarao City proper. It is the second longest bridge in the country, trailing San Juanico Bridge, and offers an unobstructed view of the Cagayan River.[2] This 1.098 km-long bridge links Tuguegarao City to the 2nd and 3rd District Municipalities of the Cagayan Province & the Apayao Province.[3] Serving as the gateway to the provincial capital, Tuguegarao City, it is part of the Santiago-Tuguegarao Road (designated as Route 51 by the Department of Public Works and Highways highway routing system), a major junction of the Pan-Philippine Highway.

Buntun Bridge is considered as the longest river bridge in the Philippines. It stretches from Tuguegarao City to Solana, Cagayan and spans the Cagayan River, the largest river basin in the Philippines.

I wasn’t a big fan of visiting churches whenever I go on trips around the country, I ONLY thought of churches as a sacred house and things such as taking pictures and talking non-religious stuff would be an act of disrespect, but this changed when I visited Cagayan. We were a bit constricted when looking for things to do in the province since most involved extreme activities like cave spelunking (we were able to go to Callao Cave though, because it was endorsed to be safe for beginners, and indeed it was) and we were with my friends’ parents so we wanted to keep the whole trip light yet still enjoyable as possible, thus we decided to visit several churches located around the different parts of the province. I am glad we did this because I finally found appreciation for the magnificent artistry and history that these churches possess.

Callao Cave is one of the limestone caves located in the municipality of Peñablanca, Cagayan province, in the Philippines. The seven-chamber show cave is one of 300 caves that dot the area and the best known natural tourist attractions of the province. The town is named as Peñablanca (Spanish for white rocks) for the presence of white limestone rocks in the area.[2] Callao Cave is located in the Barangays of Magdalo and Quibal in Peñablanca about 24 km (15 mi) northeast of Tuguegarao City, the capital of the Province of Cagayan.

Cagayan Valley (Ilokano: Tanap ti Cagayan; Ibanag: Tana' nat Cagayan; Itawit: Tanap yo Cagayan; Gaddang: Tanap na Cagayan; Filipino: Lambak ng Cagayan) (designated as Region II) is an administrative region in the Philippines located in the northeastern portion of Luzon. It is composed of five provinces: Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino. The region has four cities: Cauayan, Ilagan, Santiago, and Tuguegarao.

Most of the region lies in a large valley in northeastern Luzon, between the Cordilleras and the Sierra Madre mountain ranges. The eponymous Cagayan River, the country's largest and second longest, runs through its center and flows out from its source in the Caraballo Mountains in the south to the Luzon Strait in the north, in the town of Aparri, Cagayan. The region encompasses the outlying islands of the Babuyan and Batanes to the north.

Cagayan Valley is the second largest region of the Philippines in terms of land area, second only to MIMAROPA.
