Did you know? About half way between Station 2 and Station 1 on White Beach you’ll notice a unique natural rock formation only a few yards off the shore in the shallow water called Willy's Rock. It’s a Boracay icon and probably the most photographed (and selfied!) landmark on Boracay.

Want wonderful things but in a cheap manner? Come visit Boracay! It's a small island out in the tropical seas – not the kind of place one normally goes shopping. The local islanders have been fisherman for generations, and have little tradition of making things to sell. However, whenever you bring lots of tourists of different nationalities together in a small place you can be sure the sales people and tourist trinkets are right behind. With mini crowds surging up and down White Beach, vendors have flocked in also, selling everything tourists wants, and plenty of things they certainly don't need.

The first settlers of Boracay were a Negrito people called the Ati, and who spoke a Visayan language called Inati. Later settlers brought other languages to the island, including Aklanon (as Boracay is part of Aklan province), Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), Kinaray-a, Capiznon, other Visayan languages, Filipino, and English.
Boracay would not have been known in the history of tourism had not a few travelers treaded on the white sands of the beautiful sea water beach. Some believes that it was a movie group that had made the world know bout this place. Whatever may be the fact, this beautiful island began to be explored by people from European countries especially from Switzerland and Germany. Some of these travelers were so enchanted by the beauty of the place that settled down here in the serene island. Population of Boracay is a mixed population of the Germans, Swiss, British, Australian, Bavarians, Belgians and Australians.
