For the aspiring owners and builders, MUST READ!!!
Its been a trend with us classic bike owners and with this group page to ask these questions with regard to certain modifications to our bikes if it is allowed or not. Here are some of the details that has been frequently ask but not frequently researched.
1. Clubman Handlebars - PERMITTED
2. Clip-on Handlebars - PERMITTED AS TO NOT BE INSTALLED IN AN UNSAFE ANGLE (45° to the rider)
3. Rebuilding the Frame - PERMITTED AS TO A CERTAIN EXTENT THAT THE CHASSIS DOES NOT COMPROMISE SAFETY, OTHERWISE WOULD NEED TO HAVE A PERMIT FOR A MODIFIED VEHICLE WITH HPG/LTO
4. Mono shock Conversion - PERMITTED
5. Hardtail Bobbers/Choppers - NOT PERMITTED AS IT WOULD REQUIRE THE MOTORCYCLE TO HAVE ADEQUATE SUSPENSION FOR THE RIDER'S AND PUBLIC'S SAFETY
6. Bar End Mirrors - NOT PERMITTED, ONLY RUSI CLASSIC 250 BIKES ARE ALLOWED TO CARRY THIS MIRRORS AS IT CAME FROM FACTORY. USING SAID MIRRORS ON ANY OTHER BIKES, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. DO NOT TURN UPSIDE DOWN
7. Bullet Pipes/Bottle Pipes - PERMITTED AS LONG AS IT HAS A SILENCER AND COMPLIES WITH THE NOISE TOLERANCE OF THE LAW
8. RIMS AND TIRES - PERMITTED, ONLY NARROWING OF RIM AND TIRES ARE NOT PERMITTED AS IT AFFECTS THE SAFETY OF THE RIDER AND THE PUBLIC
9. Yellow Lens Headlight - NOT PERMITTED, ONLY YELLOW/WHITE, MEANING YELLOWISH WHITE AND WHITE/CLEAR IS ALLOWED FOR OUR HEADLIGHTS
10. LED Headlight Bulbs - PERMITTED AS LONG AS IT IS AGAIN NOT IN YELLOW BUT NEAR STOCK OR WHITE. NOT BLUISH WHITE. DISPERSION OF LIGHT SHOULD BE AT A CERTAIN ANGLE THAT ONCOMING TRAFFIC WILL NOT BE BLINDED BY THE SAID LIGHT
Please take time to read and understand.
NOTE: These expected modifications have been asked and verified with MULTIPLE LTO APPREHENDING OFFICERS. If you believe a certain modification is allowed and you feel it is against what you choose to believe, by all means ride away.
