Zamboanga City took center stage at the PTAA Travel Tour Expo, captivating audiences and proving why it’s a must-visit destination for travelers.

On the final day of the expo, Zamboanga City was given the spotlight, and we made the most of it! Our very own Joe Mendoza took to the podium, and as soon as he began speaking, a once-empty seating area quickly filled with eager listeners raring to hear his passionate invitation to Zamboanga City.

The PTAA Travel Tour Expo serves as a premier platform for promoting tourism, and Zamboanga City seized the opportunity to shine. With the full backing of Mayor John M. Dalipe, a steadfast advocate for the city’s tourism development, only the best and brightest were sent to represent our beloved city.

The City Government of Zamboanga, under the leadership of Mayor John M. Dalipe, commemorated the 110th Birth Anniversary of Zamboanga City’s premier senator, the “Great Filibuster” himself, Senator Roseller T. Lim.

The commemoration began with a solemn mass at the Carmelite Monastery of Zamboanga, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the R.T. Lim Monument. During the program, Mayor Dalipe highlighted the late senator’s strong sense of justice and unwavering devotion to the common good.

As a tribute to his legacy and to inspire future generations to emulate Senator Lim’s excellence, the Five Outstanding Zamboangueño Young Leaders (FOZYL) initiative was launched. At the event, five deserving individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication were honored with the prestigious award.

Another exciting day at the PTAA Travel Tour Expo at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

Crowds gathered at the Turismo Zamboanga booth to meet the team and learn more about everything that Zamboanga City has to offer. Our dedicated team enthusiastically welcomed each and every guest and showcased the beauty of Zamboanga City.

Vamos!

The City Government of Zamboanga, under the leadership of Mayor John M. Dalipe, through the City Tourism Office, in collaboration with JCI Zamboanga and Ateneo de Zamboanga University, will commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of Zamboanga City's premier senator and "The Great Filibuster" himself, Senator Roseller T. Lim, on February 9, 2025.

The commemoration will begin with a solemn Mass at the Carmelite Monastery at 8:00 AM, followed by a commemorative program at 9:00 AM at the Sen. Roseller T. Lim Monument on R.T. Lim Boulevard.

At 10:00 AM, an awarding ceremony will take place at the Badjao Hall, Garden Orchid Hotel, where the recipients of the Five Outstanding Zamboangueño Young Leaders award will be honored.

Vamos! Day 1 of the PTAA Travel Expo at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. The City Government of Zamboanga, under the leadership of Mayor John M. Dalipe, sent the City Tourism Office to promote Zamboanga City in the expo.

Tourism Secretary Miss Christina Garcia Frasco applauded the tourism sector on its endeavors in her speech during the opening of the program.

Zamboanga City’s 88th Dia de Zamboanga celebration is turning up the heat with the much-awaited Concurso de Bailes Cultural (Cultural Dance Competition), a grand showcase of tradition, artistry, and rhythm! Open exclusively to all high school students, this cultural dance competition promises a mesmerizing display of stunning presentations, intricate choreography, and Zamboanga City's heritage.

ZAMBOANGA CITY MAKES HISTORY

The Fort Pilar Museum marked a historic milestone with a turn-over ceremony, where Mayor John M. Dalipe and City Tourism Officer Miss Sarita Sebastian-Hernandez welcomed Mr. Mel Velarde, Chairman of the Asian Institute of Journalism and NOW Corporation.

During the event, Chairman Velarde formally presented a commemorative 1734 Philippine map along with its Certificate of Authenticity. Honorable Mayor Dalipe proudly received the map on behalf of the city.

Chairman Velarde also commended the mayor’s leadership, emphasizing the need for more dedicated public servants like him.
