It was established on April 2006 and registered under Society Act (1860) on July 1, 2006. LHDP has a core team of dedicated, committed, humanitarian and development practitioner

/ sectoral expert volunteers who have experiences of working in different emergencies in multi cultural environment. LHDP works in the most disaster prone areas.

🌍 A Milestone Achieved for Sustainable Development!🌍

We are thrilled to announce that the Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP), under the banner of WaterAid Pakistan, has successfully reached a significant milestone: achieving Target 6.2 of SDG-6.

Through tireless efforts and collaboration, LHDP has been working in 410 villages across Taluka & District Badin as part of the project “Envisioning & Catalysing Pats Plus for SDG-6 in Pakistan.” With the invaluable support of stakeholders, including the Social Welfare Department of Sindh, EducationDepartment, Public Health Engineering Department, and Local Government, we are proud to share that all 410 villages have been officially declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) by the ODF Committee, nominated by the Deputy Commissioner, Badin.

This achievement marks a vital step toward ensuring access to safe sanitation and promoting public health in the region. Thank you to everyone involved for their dedication and commitment to this transformative initiative! 🙏

Today, the Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP), in collaboration with WaterAid Pakistan, hosted a pivotal “Quarterly Women Lead Oversight Committee Meeting” at its Head Office in Badin.

The meeting spotlighted key initiatives driving the FCP project mission, with a strong focus on gender equality and women’s empowerment. LHDP reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strategic partnerships by connecting women committees with government bodies and NGOs.

Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP) under the banner of WaterAid Pakistan hosted a successful "Quarterly WASH Forum Meeting."

Attended by esteemed guests including Additional Director Abdul Ghaffar Khoso (SWD) and Assistant Director cm Chairman ODF Committee Mr. Deen Muhammad Dero (SWD), the meeting was a collaborative effort with representatives from various public and private sectors (including Health and Education Department), PCRWR, Ministry of Information, Women Empowerment & Protection, as well as renowned NGOs such as HANDS, Agha Khan, Soormi, NRSP, and community stakeholders.

Additional Director Abdul Ghaffar Khoso chaired the meeting and concluded the meeting with words of appreciation.

LHDP extend its gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions and look forward to continuing this journey towards a healthier and more sustainable future for all.

In the aftermath of the catastrophic floods in Badin District during the 2024 monsoon season, communities faced immense challenges, with many, including 60-year-old Abdul Rehman Panhwer, enduring the trauma of living under open skies amidst the spread of waterborne diseases such as malaria, diarrhea, and skin infections.

In this time of great need, the Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme (LHDP), in collaboration with WaterAid Pakistan, provided critical support. Their efforts included dewatering, fumigation, and the distribution of hygiene and dignity kits, with a focus on vulnerable groups such as women and persons with disabilities.

This timely intervention has brought vital relief to those most affected, offering a ray of hope in the face of adversity and demonstrating the power of humanitarian aid in restoring dignity and well-being.
