Re-igniting the folklore and history of Kumpir Diyor in Chapursan Hunza.

In the village of Kumpir Diyor, in Chapursan Hunza, the people had become so arrogant and ungrateful towards Allah. An old woman, known for her piety, stood apart from the rest. A holy man (Buzurg) disguised as a beggar visited the village, but everyone in the village treated him with disdain except for the old poor woman.

She welcomed him warmly, offering him a small quantity of milk in a cracked stone pot. To her amazement, the beggar's walking stick caused the milk to overflow and restored the pot. Before leaving, he instructed the old woman to gather all her belongings and witness the show from a mound the next day.

The beggar returned as a wealthy man on a horse to the village. Following his instructions, the old woman witnessed a devastating flood in the village, guided by the holy man's walking stick. A sieve was floating in the flood which belonged to the old woman which the holy man retrived from the flood and destroyed the village as a consequence of their dishonesty.

Only the old woman, her sheep, and the sieve survived, serving as a reminder of her honesty and the punishment for the villagers arrogance.

I remember my grandmother used to tell me this story when I was young and looking at the village today and the Kumpir's Cave the remains are still there.
