The ancient Thalpan petroglyphs near Chilas, Pakistan, offer a remarkable glimpse into history. Traveling north from Islamabad along the scenic route toward Pakistan’s northern tourist destinations, one arrives in the town of Chilas. Just beyond its borders, etched into the rock faces on the right side of the highway, lies an expansive gallery of ancient engravings: ibexes, stupas, meditating Buddhas, and religious symbols alongside inscriptions in various languages. This path along the Indus River once formed a critical segment of the Silk Route, facilitating cultural and trade exchanges for thousands of years. The petroglyphs number in the hundreds—perhaps thousands—and some date back to 600 BC, making them as old as 2,700 years.

Google Maps doesn't say, "Hey, you're going the wrong way!" when you take a wrong turn. It simply adjusts your route and tells you the next turn you should take.

And just like that, maybe you're not off track in life. Perhaps your route just got redirected and it might take longer and further to get there, but guess what-you're still on track.

Sometimes you arrive at your destination. Other times you get a new direction. Keep moving. You're getting there.

Festival in Hushe Valley
Hushe Valley, the last human settlement in northern Pakistan, is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and the warmth of its people. The residents, deeply connected to their surroundings, are guardians of the rich Balti cultural heritage and are especially known for their passion for alpine activities and traditional music.

The SKINFING Festival celebrates this unique cultural identity, highlighting the community's love and care for wildlife, particularly the Himalayan Ibex. A significant tradition of the festival is the performance of a folk song by an elder, vividly narrating the challenges faced by the Ibex in its habitat. This serves as a heartfelt message for wildlife conservation and environmental awareness.

The event showcased traditional Balti dances like, furgunkar and ragikar, performed by local artists, creating an enchanting atmosphere. These soulful expressions of culture have the potential to attract international attention, promoting tourism and cultural exchange.

The festival also emphasized ecotourism, winter tourism, and sports, reflecting the community's dedication to preserving its heritage while adapting to modern opportunities. Special recognition goes to the volunteers and the VCCH team for their efforts in organizing such an inspiring event. The beauty of Balti culture and its mesmerizing traditions set against the majestic backdrop of Mashabrum Peak (K-1).

انتہائی خوبصورت نظاروں کی حامل اس موٹر وے سے سفر کے دوران 5 سرنگیں بھی آتی ہیں- 2 سرنگیں ایبٹ آباد کے علاقے میں جبکہ 3 بٹل، کامونگ اور مانسہرہ کے علاقوں میں واقع ہیں۔
اس موٹر وے کے قیام کی بدولت اسلام آباد سے تھاکوٹ تک کا سفر 8 گھنٹے سے کم ہو کر صرف 3 گھنٹے کا رہ گیا ہے- اس راستے پر 9 فلائی اوورز اور 47 پل بھی تعمیر کیے گئے ہیں جو سیاحوں کو ایک منفرد تجربہ فراہم کرتے ہیں-

Haldi Cones are a group of mountains located in Karakoram range in Ghanche district of Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan. The granite peaks are located in Haldi village located at a distance of 25 km from Khaplu town. Most of these towers and cones are not climbed yet.
