Pakistan will launch its first ecotourism village in the mountains of Kaghan Valley in March, says Malik Amin Aslam.

Ecotourism involves responsible travel and sustainable transport, conserving the environment, and improving the wellbeing of locals in an area. Its purpose is both to educate the traveler and to provide funds for ecological conservation and to benefit the economic development and political empowerment of local communities.

Pakistan’s first ecotourism village in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province will abide by a zero-waste policy, the advisor said.

“The ecotourism project is a unique and practical way which would reduce the environmental footprint of the tourism industry in Pakistan,” Aslam said this week. “It will educate not only the hospitality sector but also engage the local community for their livelihood uplifting.”

WE MOVED TO THE MOUNTAINS!! 🏔

The long anticipated wait is over! We are happy to share and announce that we have officially shifted to the north of Pakistan 🇵🇰

Neither of us are city people or “fit in” with societal “norms” and the system. We long for wide open spaces, fresh air, peace, simple life, nature and ADVENTURE!

THE MOUNTAINS WERE CALLING

Although it was necessary for the time to be based in the city, we couldn’t wait to get out of there. After 10 long months living in Lahore, we finally made the move and shifted our entire life up here- indefinitely.

IT WAS A BIG MOVE!

With travel restrictions still in force around the globe making getting around too complicated, we decided to stay put for a while here in Pk. But that meant moving somewhere we both could thrive a bit better.

Looking to take the stressful pressures off ourselves, focusing more on being present, being in nature, having adventure at our finger tips and generally living a more simple life, this is the PERFECT place to be.

We have SO MANY things to share with you about living life in a small village tucked in the mountains. It truly is a DREAM come true MASHALLAH we are so blessed 💓🙏🏼

Stay tuned for lots of amazing new content (time to work on and upload pending content) wonderful stories and epic adventures with our little family 💓

Did anyone guess right 😄?!

In a new effort to promote Pakistani tourism, the government airline, PIA will launch Sadpara Air Safari in a few weeks.

From 12th of June, you can book a flight from Islamabad and fly over K2, Nanga Parbat, Deosai, and other mountains before landing in Skardu.

You will be taken to Shangrila Hotel for a complimentary hi-tea after admiring Pakistan's beautiful beauty. After landing, the flight returns 2 hours later. You have the option of returning on the same flight or changing to a different one at your convenience.

This is another great step which will help Pakistan to grow, this time without the need for loans or aid.

During the restoration work at the Royal Fort in Lahore, a 400-year-old tunnel has been discovered, which as per the opinion of the experts was used as drainage and secret passage, media reported.

The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) sub-engineering Hafiz Umran, who was working on the project told Tribune that the walls of the tunnel buried in the heart of Lahore are firmly in place and that the tunnel is well ventilated and lighted, while it features niches for the purpose of lighting the lamps.

Hafiz Usman said that the water collected in the fort during the rainy season used to accumulate in the tunnels, which had damaged various portions of the fort. Moreover, the water also damaged Moti Masjid, Maktab Khana, Haveli Mai Jindan, and the museum building.

For the water to not stay accumulated, the 625-foot-long tunnel has been repaired and cleaned to enable drainage.

Revealing more details about the tunnel, the experts said that “snakes and scorpions were also found during the excavation. We are happy that the tunnel is functional." They added that the tunnel has been restored using the traditional method, without modern machines and equipment.

The historic walled city of Lahore has been included in the list of “52 dream destinations” for tourists to visit in 2021 by the New York Times (NYT).

The NYT, an American daily with worldwide readership, compiled its list — 52 places to love in 2021 — after evaluating more than 2,000 suggestions, received from the readers who were asked about the spots that had delighted, inspired and comforted them in a “dark year”.

It is not the first time that the world acknowledges Pakistan’s tourism potential. The country has already been recommended to the tourists as must-visit place by the global magazines such as Forbes and Condé Nast Traveler due to its breathtaking tourists destinations scattered across the country.

“Especially in winter, this city nourishes you. It opens its arms to you, then feeds you and wraps you in a hug,” remarked Haneen Iqbal, one of the American daily’s reader, about the walled city.

The New York Times posted her view on its site, which described Lahore as one of the best city due to its culture, history and hospitality.

Other countries’ cities that included in the list were Siwa Oasis of Egypt, The Llanos of Colombia, Kaliya Dhrow of India, Northern Mariana Islands of Saipan, Isfahan, Iran and others.

“Lahore is among the New York Times top picks to visit in 2021. Lahore’s rich culture, warmth, hospitality & the most amazing food in the world awaits travellers. A must-have on everyone’s list!"
