About the speaker: Azam Jamil has an illustrious career in the Hospitality and Tourism industry starting with Intercontinental Hotels in the mid-seventies and spanning well over 4 decades, Azam has been responsible for spearheading some of the key projects and institutions that shape Pakistan’s tourism industry today.

Digitalization of Mutual Fund Distribution with SECP Innovation Office

In continuation of its efforts to promote digitization in the Non-Banking Finance Services and broaden the investor base in mutual funds, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has issued guidelines on Mutual Fund Digital Platforms (MFDP). These guidelines set out principles and requirements applicable to mutual fund digital distribution platforms for Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) and or Voluntary Pension Funds (VPS).
In this webinar, we'll talk about how SECP has also allowed the individuals to act as Securities & Futures Advisors and to act as distributors of units of mutual funds of multiple Asset Management Companies (AMCs). With an objective to promote good governance practices, ensuring investor protection and having skilled investment, individuals who are graduates and meet the fit and proper criteria have been allowed to act as Securities & Futures advisors.
This will enable the creation of new distribution channels and increase financial inclusion in the country.
