14 kms north east of Rawalpindi on the north eastern fringe of the Potohar plateau of the province of Punjab.

city is divided into five major zones:

Zone I
Zone II
Zone III
Zone IV
Zone V. Zone IV is the largest in area while Zone I is the largest developed residential area. Zone 1 is divided into sectors. Each residential sector is identified by a letter of the alphabet and a number, and covers an area of approximately 2 km × 2 km. Total Area 906.50 sq. km

ITP Traffic Alert !

Only Margallah Road can be used for Red Zone Entry and Exit.

Ayub Chowk, Express Chowk, NADRA Chowk and Serena Chowk are closed for Red Zone Entry and Exit.

To avoid delays keep margin time of 15 to 20 minutes.

In pursuance of direction of PM Trial run of orange line metro bus begins.

ISLAMABAD: (PR: Dated, 16 April, 2022): At the directions of Prime Minster of Pakistan the trial run of orange line metro bus service from Peshawar Mor to New Islamabad Airport has begun today. Officials from capital development authority , NHA , ICT Administration and from other related Departments inspected the docking, scheduling loading and unloading of passengers and other operational details were checked. This trial run will continue tomorrow as well. After the completion of trial, Prime Minister of Pakistan will inaugurate this route .

According to the details Orange line will have 30 modern buses which will ply after 5 mins during the peak hours will 8 to 10 mins during off peak hours. The track of this service is 25.6 Kms long and has 7 stations and one platform near Islamabd Airport.

Initially the cda under directions of PM made arrangement with Punjab Mass transport authority for 15 Orange painted buses.
It is estimated that 25000 to 26000 passengers will commute daily on this project. At the direction of Prime Minster of Pakistan no fare will be charged during the holy month of Ramadan .

It is pertinent to mention here that depot, bus stations and track is being completed by NHA whilst buses have been arranged by CDA.
