PIA is gearing up to relaunch its flight services to Paris next month, as announced during a discussion with a group from the Council of Economic and Energy Journalists in Islamabad.
The spokesperson for PIA revealed that the national airline expects to secure safety clearance from the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) by the end of this month.
Upon obtaining clearance, flights to Paris will commence in June, followed by the reintroduction of direct flights from Pakistan to Heathrow Airport in Britain on Jan 2025.
In preparation for the reopening of European and British routes, PIA has expedited maintenance and overhaul procedures for its Boeing 777 aircraft fleet.
Currently, seven Boeing 777 planes are operational, with two more set to join the fleet within the next two months, bringing the total to nine. This expansion will enable PIA to efficiently operate flights to Europe and Britain.

بیلون پائلٹ عبدالباسط کا کہنا ہے کہ ایڈونچر کے شوقین سیاحوں کو اب بیرون ممالک جانے کی ضرورت نہیں، وہ ہاٹ ائیر بیلون میں بیٹھ کر دریائے کنہار سمیت کاغان ویلی کے بلندو بالا سیاحتی مقامات کے دلکش نظاروں سے خوب لطف اندوز ہو سکیں گے۔

یاد رہے ترکی، تھائی لینڈ اور چائنہ جیسے ملک دنیا بھر سے ہاٹ ائیر بلوننگ کے ذریعے سیاحوں کی دلچسپی حاصل کرنے میں کامیاب ہو چکے ہیں۔

The Pakistani government has strengthened its efforts to apprehend citizens engaged in illicit activities abroad, particularly in the UAE. Passports of 4,700 Pakistani nationals imprisoned in the UAE have been blocked following the sharing of details regarding over 5,000 offenders. Furthermore, passports of 375 undocumented Pakistani citizens in the UAE have been revoked. The FIA uncovered a global forgery network involved in creating counterfeit Pakistani documents, highlighting Pakistan's commitment to curbing illegal activities tied to its identification systems.

PIA Flight Karachi-Islamabad Makes Emergency Landing Due to Technical Fault. A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Karachi to Islamabad experienced a technical issue shortly after takeoff on Tuesday, requiring an emergency landing. As reported by a PIA spokesperson, the aircraft's landing gear failed to retract, prompting the captain to contact the control tower and safely divert the flight back to Karachi for an emergency landing. Notably, PIA CEO Khurram Mushtaq was among the passengers. All travelers were later shifted to another aircraft, which successfully completed the journey to Islamabad. The faulty aircraft has been grounded for repairs.

In a major relief for passport applicants, the wait for normal passport delivery has been significantly reduced. Citizens can now expect to receive their passports within just 20 days, addressing the prolonged delays that had plagued the process for months.

This improvement follows the installation of new printing machines, the addition of more staff, and the implementation of a 24-hour printing schedule. Director of Immigration and Passports South Region, Saeed Abbasi, confirmed the system overhaul, stating that these changes have made it possible to meet the 20-day delivery timeframe.

“For a long time, passport delivery was delayed for months, but thanks to these new developments, we are now able to provide passports on time,” Abbasi said in an interview with SAMAA TV.

In addition to the standard 20-day delivery, the department has introduced expedited services. Passports processed through the fast-track system will be delivered within two days, while those using the urgent fee service will receive their documents within 10 days.

Singapore is the world’s safest city for tourists, according to new research by Forbes Advisor.

The study, which analyzed factors such as crime, healthcare quality and risks of natural disasters, ascribed safety scores from 0 to 100 — with the safest cities receiving the lowest scores.

Based on the study’s assessment, Singapore scored 0 points.

Out of 60 analyzed cities, the Southeast Asian city boasted the lowest natural disaster risk, and the second lowest health and infrastructure risks.

The study also analyzed digital security risks, which it defined as the ability to freely use the internet without fear of online attacks or privacy violations. Singapore was deemed to have the second lowest digital security risk on the list.

After Singapore, the study ranked Tokyo and Toronto as the next safest cities for travelers. Tokyo was deemed to have the lowest health security risk, a testament to the quality of healthcare services in the city, and the fifth lowest infrastructure security risk.

Japan and Australia were the only countries to have two cities rank in the study’s top 10 list, which included:

3. Toronto, Canada
4. Sydney, Australia
5. Zurich, Switzerland
