The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless communication infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The role involves working at heights, performing equipment installations, and collaborating with the broader telecommunications team.
Responsibilities:
1. Tower Climbing:
• Safely climb telecommunications towers and structures to install, repair, or maintain wireless communication equipment.
2. Equipment Installation:
• Install and commission antennas, radios, cabling, and other wireless communication equipment according to technical specifications and industry standards. This will also involve preparing feeder connections.
3. Tower Rigging:
• Rigging and hoisting of equipment using appropriate tools and safety measures.
• Assemble and dismantle tower structures as needed for equipment installations.
4. Site Surveys:
• Conduct site surveys to assess the feasibility and requirements for new installations or upgrades.
5. Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to safety regulations, standards, and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
6. Equipment Troubleshooting:
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with wireless communication equipment, resolving technical problems efficiently.
7. Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, equipment installations, and maintenance tasks.
• Provide detailed reports on completed work and any issues encountered.
8. Collaboration:
• Work closely with other team members, including engineers, project managers, and technicians, to ensure seamless project ex*****on.
9. Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that all installations and maintenance activities meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
10. Customer Interaction:
• Communicate with clients or site owners to coordinate installations, discuss project requirements, and address any concerns.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience as a Wireless Rigger or similar role in the telecommunications industry.
• Certification in tower climbing and rescue operations. Company will arrange UK specific certifications for successful candidates
• Familiarity with wireless communication technologies and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Full driving license.
• Weight should not exceed 136 Kg.
• Awareness of common hazards whilst working at heights
• Demonstrate use of fall arrest lanyards and work positioning
• Ability to use and install temporary fall arrest systems.

Description of Job

Education: A technical diploma or equivalent is typically required, and additional certifications or vocational training in telecommunications or rigging are advantageous.
Ability to communicate in English.
