According to World Economic Forum pandemic COVID-19 has hit the world travel and tourism industry by 50 million jobs hack. Amongst all continent Asia would be severely impacted as 30 million job lost followed by 7million in Europe, 5 million in America and 8 million in rest of the world. Airline and cruise ships in particular may have a significant detrimental impact relative to hospitality institutions in the travel industry. The duration of rehabilitation after the conquest of this outbreak ddepends on how long it persists as per MD- world tour and travel council.
T&T business chips into the world's GDP by 10 per cent. In comparison, however, just 2.7
percent of Pakistan's overall GDP. The Pakistani Govt estimates that tourism will contribute rupees 1trillion (US$ 7.1 billion) to the Pakistani economy by 2025. Keeping in view of the current crisis Govt should devised revise tourism policy with remedial measure like softening and simplifying of visa policies, cut into taxes on travel industry and subsidy on amenities to tourism promoters’ entities.
