Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) is organizing a unique water sports and adventure tourism gala for the youth with an aim to provide them an opportunity of entertainment and engage them in healthy activities.
Titled as “Beat the Waves”, the spectacular water sports & adventure tourism events will be held simultaneously at the scenic tourist resort Khanpur Lake on November 4.
Eighteen different events including jet ski, vek tube, family boating, zip-lining, shooting archery, volleyball, treasure hunt, instrumental music, rabab mangay, individual boating, hiking and trekking, bonfire, tug-of-war, cuisines and a lot more are features of the gala the youth from across the country, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will have to participate and enjoy.
Besides other facilities, the TCKP has also arranged the transportation facility for the intending participants and visitors from Peshawar to Khanpur Lake.
The vehicles will leave from the Tourist Information Centre located on the premises of Peshawar Museum and return from Khanpur after the end of the event.
Minimum age for the participants is 15 years, who can perform in an event.
Those desirous to join the mega gala can register at www.kptourism.com with a fee of Rs1500 only for per individual to enjoy the colourful events at the scenic resort.
Secretary Sports, Tourism, Archaeology, Museum, Culture and Youth Affairs Department, Muhammad Tariq while chairing a meeting to this effect said that efforts were being to revive cultural, sports and tourism in every nook and corner of the province.
Besides others, TCKP Managing Director Mushatq Ahmad Khan and events In-charge Hassina Shaukat also attended the meeting.
The secretary asked the events in-charge to organise the upcoming gala in a befitting manner to attract tourists and visitors to Khanpur Lake and other serene places of the province.
Hassina Shaukat said that the TCKP was interested to attract private sector to join the government efforts for the promotion of tourism in the province.
She said the upcoming gala is a good example of public and private partnership, where both will organise 18 water sports and adventure tourism events for youth.
The official added that the gala would send a positive message to the outer world that peace had been restored and sports and tourism activities were being organised everywhere in the province.
