The Department of Tourism has issued climbing permits to 609 climbers from 69 expeditions thus far. alone has 300 climbers from 30 expeditions.

Earlier pictures of Askari Aviation Pakistan while dropping the rescue climbers at Nanga Parbat. Initial aerial search with Alex on board lasted for 50 minutes but with no trace of missing climbers. Now the rescuers are working with drones and on ground interventions as well. Pakistani climber Rehmat Ullah Baig also joined Texikon, he was with Tom and Nardi at the beginning of the expedition.

Nex Parbat Winter Expedition Rescue: * Due Écureuil B3 dell'aviazione dell'esercito pakistano sono decollati da Skardu AAB alle 1104 del PST in condizioni climatiche difficili intorno a Skardu. Fortunatamente il tempo era molto meglio al di fuori della Skardu Valley. La formazione passò da Jaglot prima di dirigersi verso il Nanga Parbat. Il tempo si era trasformato per sempre in quell'area.

* Rescate de la expedición de invierno de Nanga Parbat: * Dos Écureuil B3s de la Aviación del Ejército de Pakistán despegaron de Skardu AAB a las 1104 h PST en condiciones climáticas difíciles en Skardu. Afortunadamente, el clima era mucho mejor fuera del valle de Skardu. La formación pasó por Jaglot antes de dirigirse a Nanga Parbat. El tiempo había cambiado para ese tiempo en esa área.

*Nanga Parbat Winter Expedition Rescue:* Two Écureuil B3s of Pakistan Army Aviation took off from Skardu AAB at 1104hrs PST in difficult weather conditions around Skardu. Fortunately the weather was much better outside the Skardu Valley. The formation passed by Jaglot before heading to Nanga Parbat. Weather had turned for good by that time in that area.

Arriving at Nanga Parbat, the two Écureuils climbed to Camp-I and spent 10 minutes up there to reconnoiter a landing spot at Camp-I. The formation then landed at Base Camp dropping off the Spanish rescuers. The two helis then took Alex Txikon and Rehmat Ullah Baig from the Base Camp and climbed back up to Camp-I. Since Rehmat was with Daniele and Tom during the initial phase of the expedition, he was able to point out the exact route on the Mummery Spur to Alex and the pilots. The formation then started an aerial reconnaissance with Alex on board and searched the area for around 50 minutes. They went up to 7100m before climbing down to Camp-I. Unfortunately no sign of climbers or a camp site was found during the aerial reconnaissance. The formation then dropped off Alex Txikon on Camp-I and returned to Base Camp before heading back to the base.

Ali Sadpara has climbed up to Camp-I to join up with Alex Txikon. Alex Txikon has a drone with him which he intends to reconnoiter the area to locate Daniele and Tom.

[04/03, 2:44 pm]: 1st Alex Txikon report from his sat phone: We arrived at the camp we are fixing on the plateaux between camp 1 and 2 at 4850m. Wonderful weather. Very warm and avalanches' danger increases. With helicopter we did a recon very close to the mountain, along Kinshofer route and then on Mummery Spur and the area of the glacier between camp 3 and our landing point. We reached an approximative altitude of 7100m. Unfortunately no traces of our friends. Ignacio, who is climber and engineer is preparing the drones to search carefully the traces and the trajectory of fall. Each possibility will be explored.

Alex is going towards camp 2 with another climber.

Time goes by so fast in the Base Camp of the . In the blink of an eye we will be packing everything and leaving what is our home this winter. We want to enjoy every second of this dream and for that, after thinking about it a lot, I have come to the conclusion that we have to learn from our mistakes.

Every step counts and we need to be sure in what we do. I think that in the last two expeditions on Everest, we equipped with ropes too early, and as the good weather did not arrive, we waste our energy re-equipping the track again and again after the strong storm. For that reason, and to be able to be strong and ready when the good weather arrives, we do not want to run, we need to listen to the mountain!

I think that after equipping with ropes until Camp 2 in just two days, the mountain as well needs some days to rest until the good weather allows us to equip up to Camp 4. The forecast will tell us when to put the crampons on and climb towards one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.

Meanwhile, we will listen to the K2 mountain from the Base Camp in good company and possitive team atmosphere. The best things in life are always worth waiting for. Thank you for being there every day ... you can not imagine the strength you give us! ;)

Los días pasan muy rápido en el Campo Base del K2 invernal. En un abrir y cerrar de ojos estaremos desmontando la que es nuestra casa estos meses de invierno. Queremos disfrutar cada segundo en este sueño y para ello, tras meditarlo mucho, he llegado a la conclusión de que debemos de aprender de nuestros errores.

Cada paso tiene que ser lento y firme, con total convicción en lo que hacemos. Puesto que en las dos anteriores expediciones en el Everest creo que equipamos demasiado rápido, y como la ventana de buen tiempo no llegaba, gastamos demasiada fuerza en reequipar una y otra vez la vía tras el fuerte temporal. Por ello, y para aguantar con fuerzas hasta que el invierno nos brinde una ventana de buen tiempo… no queremos correr, la montaña no se meceré que le metamos prisa; merece que la escuchemos.

Creo que tras la equipación hasta Campo 2 en sólo dos días la montaña necesita que estos días le dejemos descansar hasta que el buen tiempo nos ofrezca la suerte de equipar hasta Campo 4. La meteo nos dirá cuando volver a ponernos los crampones y subir hacia una de las montañas más bellas del mundo.

Mientras tanto, escucharemos al K2 desde el Campo Base en buena compañía e increíble ambiente del equipo. Esperar es el mejor avance. Gracias por estar cada día ahí… ¡no os imagináis la fuerza que nos dais! ;)

I giorni passano molto velocemente al campo base del K2 invernale. In un batter d'occhi staremo smontando quella che è stata la nostra casa in questi mesi invernali
Vogliamo goderci ogni secondo di questo sogno e per questo, dopo averci pensato a lungo, sono giunto alla conclusione che dobbiamo imparare dai nostri errori.

Ogni passo deve essere lento e fermo, con la piena convinzione di ciò che facciamo. Considerato che nelle due spedizioni precedenti all'Everest credo che abbiamo attrezzato troppo rapidamente, e dato che la finestra di bel tempo non arrivava, abbiamo speso troppa energia nel riattrezzare un'altra volta la via dopo il lungo maltempo. Per questo, e per tenere duro finché l'inverno non ci da una finestra di bel tempo … non vogliamo correre, la montagna non si merita che le mettiamo fretta, merita che la ascoltiamo.

Credo che dopo aver attrezzato fino a campo 2 in solo due giorni la montagna necessiti che questi giorni la lasciamo riposare finché il buon tempo non ci offrirà la fortuna di attrezzare fino a campo 4. Il meteo ci dirà quando tornare a rimettersi i ramponi e salire su una delle montagne più belle al mondo.

Nel frattempo, ascolteremo il K2 dal Campo Base in buona compagnia e con un incredibile spirito di squadra.
