THE NATION IS TOO QUIET. SHE SHOULD NOT. A NATIONAL ASSET IS GONE. LET US SHOW THAT WE KNOW.

When I saw the kinds of people who paraded themselves as celebrities before the inspector General of police, the sorts of rights and privileges they thought they deserved, and the sorts of questions they posed to the Leadership regarding their entitled status, I knew the whole country was sick in according National Mourning and state burial to some of them.

My suspicion has been given a strong backing in the demise of the man E. Q. Archampong BSc. M.S (London), FRCS (ED & ENG), FICS, FWACS, FGA, FACS (HON.), FGCS COV.
Emeritus Professor of Surgery
Former Head of Department of Surgery
Former Dean, School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Ghana.
Visiting Professor of Surgery, University of Manitoba,
Formerly Chief Examiner in Final FWACS
Formerly Examiner in Anatomy, Primary FRCS (England)
Formerly External Examiner, Universities of Lagos, Ibadan, Nigeria, Amadu Bello and Zambia, Zimbabwe University, University of Benin, KNUST

For those who don't know, all those abbreviations that follow his name are the summation of everything achievable in Surgery through blood and toil Nationally, Regionally, Internationally and Globally.

He left England to come and settle in this country, his Country Ghana, to help build up the surgical department and train Medical Students and Surgical Specialiats to be like him.

He made sure he published a text book, in collaboration with his Contemporaries, that has been the go to manual for every Medical Student and Surgery Lecturer in Ghana and beyond. We who the publication BAJA'S PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF SURGERY INCLUDING PATHOLOGY IN THE TROPICS has helped simply call it BAJA. It is actually the abbreviation of the names of the Authors: Badoe, Archampong, Jaja.

Which Surgical Fellow, Medical Student and Doctor, especially, products of the University of Ghana and University of Science and Technology will deny knowing, and/or having been taught by, Prof Archampong?

The Doctors at the Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Health, and the other Ministries, are you aware Prof. Archampong is no more?

The Rev. Doctors, especially those who were in cassocks and clericals trying to outshine each other at Ebony's state funeral because she was a celebrity and the manner of her death and the lessons to be learnt from the recklessness and wanton disregard to road safety did not matter, are you aware that a man greater than 'Ebony Reigns' has taken a bow out of the affairs of this life?

Well, you might not know. But now you know.
An irreplaceable man in the History of the Country's Establishment and place in the West African Subregion as a destination for clean surgeries is no more.

And for the fact that he emptied himself in us, let us not let his memory just slide unnoticed.

Let's make noise and let people know that it not only pays to drop out of school to advertise butts and b***s with a mike on stage and a tune that intends a pun in one case and metaphorically speaks of another thing, but also Staying in School and making the Sacrifice of coming back home to impact the lives of all the generation of Doctors in the Country is worth much more.

Our noise will not come through shouting. Let me propose how we make noise in celebrating a great Celebrity so that the Powers that be can wake up and immortalise this great man:

1. All Doctors in the field who have been taught or examined by this man can appear at work in mourning clothes or simply in a red arm bands or bandanas this week. I will.
2. All Doctors in the Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Health who have been taught by this man can request the Ghana flags in your premises fly at half mast this week in his memory.
3. The Flags on the University Campuses that Prof. has passed through should kindly fly at half Mast.
4. The Flags on the various Hospital Premises, especially Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Must fly at half Mast.
5. The flags in the Premises of the Ghana Medical Association and the Ghana Medical and Dental Council Must fly at Half Mast.
6. If Possible, the Flags on the Principal streets of Accra, especially those that adorn the Streets of the Independence Square and the Jubilee House, may Fly at Half Mast
7. A Prof. Archampong Memorial Day be observed for such a great man.

This is the way we can encourage the youth, when they see what is going on around us and ask questions, to aspire to become the Next Archampong. The Next Badoe. The Next us!

GERMANY BIDS FAREWELL TO *_ANGELA MERKEL_*

With six minutes of warm applause, on the streets, balconies, windows, the whole Country applauded for 6 minutes - spectacular example of leadership and defense of humanity, chapeaux !

The Germans elected her to lead them, and she led 80 million Germans for 18 years with *competence, skill, dedication and sincerity*. *She did not utter nonsense. She did not appear in the alleys of Berlin to be photographed. She was dubbed "The Lady of the World" and who was described as the equivalent of six million men.*

During these eighteen years of her leadership of the authority in her Country, *no transgressions were recorded against her. She did not assign any of her relatives to a government post. She did not claim that she was the maker of glories. She did not get millions in payment, nor did anyone cheer her performance, she did not receive charters and pledges, she did not fight those who preceded her*.

Yesterday, Merkel left the party leadership position and handed it over to those after her, and Germany and it's German people are in the best condition ever.

The reaction of the Germans was unprecedented in the history of the Country. *The entire population went out to their balconies of their houses and clapped for her spontaneously for 6 continuous minutes. A standing ovation nationwide*.

Germany stood as one body bidding farewell to their leader, a chemical physicist who *was not tempted by the fashion or the lights and did not buy real estate, cars, yachts and private planes*, knowing that she is from former East Germany.

*She left her post after leaving Germany at the top. She left and her relatives did not claim advantage. Eighteen years and she never changed her wardrobe. God be upon this silent leader.*

At a press conference, a female Journalist asked Merkel : *We notice that you're wearing the same suit, don’t you have any other? She replied: "I am a government employee and not a model*"

At another press conference, they asked her : *Do you have housemaids who clean your house, prepare your meals and so on? Her answer was: "No, I do not have servants and I do not need them. My husband and I do this work at home every day.*

Then another journalist asked : *Who is washing the clothes, you or your husband? Her answer: "I arrange the clothes, and my husband is the one who operates the washing machine, and it is usually at night, because electricity is available and there is no pressure on it, and the most important thing is to take into the account the possible inconvenience for the neighbours, thankfully the wall separating our apartment from the neighbours is thick. She said to them, "I expected you to ask me about the successes and failures in our work in the government??"*

Mrs. Merkel lives in a normal apartment like any other citizen. *She lived in this apartment before being elected Chancellor of Germany. She did not leave it and does not own a villa, servants, swimming pools or gardens.*

Merkel, the now former Chancellor of Germany, the largest economy in Europe !!👌🏼

*Speaker of Parliament Must Respect the Court:Razak Kojo Opoku Writes*

This country’s 1992 Constitution is based on a quasi-executive presidential system of government. This is underpinned by the principle of separation of powers.

Executive power is vested in the President, legislative power in Parliament, and Judicial power in the judiciary.

By the functions of various arms of government in Ghana, Parliament enacts laws, and the judiciary interprets the laws.

The issue of Unibank and UT Bank is at the court. I don't understand how and why the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Bagbin, wants a parliamentary committee to be formed to investigate the issues of these banks, which are before the court of competent jurisdiction?

A million-dollar question on the lips of many today is does the Speaker of Parliament want to undermine the court?

Where is the separation of Powers?

Hon. Alban Bagbin once said that "we have 3 equal independent arms of government" Then why is the Speaker of Parliament rushing to do things which could undermine the decision of the court?

Respectively, Hon. Alban Bagbin may be setting a very dangerous precedent by pitching the Legislature against the Judiciary with these actions.

What prevents owners of collapsed banks to seek redress at the Appeals Court or Supreme Court if they are not satisfied with the final determination of the case?

Is Parliament now an Appeals Court or Supreme Court? Absolutely no.

Again, why Hon. Alban Bagbin totally silent over UT Petition but quick to act on Unibank? Is it because the owner(s) of Unibank is a known NDC member?

Why Hon. Alban Bagbin not giving the same level of attention to other issues citizens of this country have petitioned Parliament to investigate?

Hon. Alban Bagbin, these legitimate questions are haunting us. Any answers?

*Raymond Edem Tamekloe writes...*

Topical amongst issues tabled before the public discourse is one hearty and a seemingly unending conversation surrounding the denial of two Rastafarians entry into Achimota school on account of their hairstyles. Of the sentimental traction the matter has since gained, leading amongst them is the religious and human rights underpinnings of the situation, with many calling for the urgent admission of the students on same basis.

In isolation and in every possible meaning of the word, social prejudice, centered on perceived physical appearance of an individual is in today's age barbaric and backward looking. It is a misdemeanor that must be discouraged with urgent palpability.

Incontrovertible however, is the fundamental yet uttermost responsibility of the school as an educational institution, one that reforms and instil ethics. All hierarchy of Achimota school has done is affirm the dictates of the systemic framework as has been designed and refuses to compromise at prerogative whims.

Arguments advanced in favor of religion or what not is moot, indifferent and has zero bearing. Religious considerations, while accommodated, has its limits within the educational architecture. If indeed it is anything to go by, then all students must just as well be granted vested right to practice whatever belief system they ascribe to, in whatever way or form they deem fit.

In another perspective, just because the constitution provides for freedom of speech, does not effectively remove the inconspicuous threshold to which one can exercise that right. More so, while it is within the right of every Ghanaian citizen to have equal access to education as guaranteed by the 1992 constitution, does not necessarily remove fundamental prerequisites. Else, wouldn't we be calling the aggregate 30 accessibiliy cap to secondary education a matter of constitutional rights violation?

The Public Service Commission, whose mandate is sourced from Article 190(1) of the 1992 constitution as the body that spells the Code of Conduct for public sector workers regards wearing beard or too many hair as "unprofessional". And all the educational institutions are doing is reforming students to meet standard human resource requirements.

The situation has illicited an overly sentimental assessment to the point where the germane concern has been eluded. We can choose to see this as matter of gross social injustice and systemic failure and adequately redirect efforts and demand for general reforms. The root cause of the problem must be exterminated, that is the only effective way to confront the issue. Achimota is only a part of the system, complying with the system!

Be the straw that stirs the drink and not just an overly sentimental individual! Until we recognize the constitutional and institutional flaws, these current uproars are much ado about nothing and only an exercise in pure futility!

We can't pick and choose!

*KNUST LECTURER REMOVES VEIL OF MUSLIM NURSING CANDIDATE AND THROWS IT AWAY*

On Thursday 26th of September, 2019, an unfortunate incident happened on the campus of KNUST as recent graduates of the Department of Nursing in KNUST were undertaking their licensure examination.

Information our agents gathered suggest that on arrival at the examination center an official from the NURSES AND MIDWIFERY COUNCIL present asked some Muslim ladies who were dressed up in their nursing uniform to remove their veils else they won’t be allowed to write the exam. These graduates after explaining to the official were able to convince her. She agreed for them to wear the inner veil and write the exam.

However, unfortunately as it seems a lecturer at the Department of Nursing, KNUST whose name has been given as Dr. (Mrs.) Adwoa Bemah Boamah Mensah out of nowhere stormed the examination room and removed the inner veil on the head of one of the candidates threw it away outside the premises of the examination hall.

Speaking with the said student she narrated her ordeal amidst tears and shivering. She said.. “I was dismayed at her attitude. She all of a sudden removed the veil and threw it away. Her action sent me into shock and I was totally dumbstrucked. I couldn’t gain my focus and attention throughout the remaining duration of the exam. People need to be taught to respect the religious choice of others. I expected her to know better.”

The lady also quizzed why same treatment is not meted out to Roman Catholic sisters in the profession. This incident comes as a shock to many as just recently a similar incident occurred at SSNIT where a Muslim lady was asked to remove her veil before granted access as a service person with SSNIT. A lot of Muslims are therefore suspecting some religious profiling and deliberate efforts to malign Muslims by some professionals.

Doesn’t the constitution grant us the choice of religion and for every citizen to respect that choice? Wouldn’t it be prudent for the NURSES AND MIDWIFERY COUNCIL to come out clearly on the issue of hijab and nursing

PRESS CONFERENCE BY THE KINTAMPO NORTH CONSTITUENCY YOUTH WING ON SOME PROJECTS PRESENTED BY THE MCE FOR KINTAMPO NORTH AS HIS ACHIVEVEMENTS AT THE BONO EAST EDITION OF THE GOVERNMENT TOWN HALL MEETING ON THE 9TH SEPTEMBER,2019 AT TECHIMAN. ADDRESSED BY: ABDUL-MUBARICK SEIDU, CONSTITUENCY YOUTH ORGANIZER.
16TH SEPTEMBER, 2019

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen of the press. I welcome you all to Kintampo North N.DC. Youth Wing press conference. On behalf of the Constituency Chairman, the Hon Member of Parliament for the constituency, the entire constituency executives, Youth Working Wing and the party as a whole, I would like to thank all of you for your diligent pursuit of truth in our governance and development process in Kintampo-North Municipality here.

Friends from the media, our gathering here this afternoon has been occasioned by some arrant falsehood and some achievements the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kintampo North deliberately presented as his achievements in his four minutes audio-visual (Power Point) presentation on Monday, 9th September 2019 at the Bono East edition of Town Hall Meeting requesting various MDCEs to present their achievements to the Hon. Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and the good people of Bono East. In his presentation, he sought to blindly take credits for some projects done by the erstwhile NDC GOVERNMENT and some individuals that he knew nothing about.

Truth, they say cannot be suppressed. Try submerging it in water and it will emerge more forcefully than before. Try burying it in the sand, and it will sprout like a seed. This is what the Hon. MCE has refused to see; the reason for which he is getting exposed and embarrassed almost every blessed day. Once again, we in the Kintampo North NDC and for that matter the Youth Wing will not sit aloof and watch him throw dust into the eyes of the good people of Kintampo.

We shall set the records straight by responding appropriately to every single project listed.
The MCE talked about donations of 6 packets of Roofing Sheets to black volta SHS. This cannot be classified as an achievement because, former MCEs even donated hundreds of packets of Roofing Sheets to several schools across the municipality but none of them ever claim they were achievements since is part of their routine responsibility. This is again a clear indication of “per trawling” for projects by the MCE.

The MCE also lied about a nice edifice of ultra modern library at the Methodist school. The library was the vision of former president Mahama to pick some selected JHS school to upgrade them into a community Day school, hence one Mr. Baffoe who works with the GETFUND and also comes from Kintampo Nwoase help spearheaded the cause for that wonderful edifice. And this project started somewhere in 2015, even before Nana Addo was sworn in as president. MCE knows nothing about this library block and has no locus to claim credit without acknowledging his predecessor or the previous administration.

Again, if not shopping of projects, how can handling over of projects becomes an achievement.

The claim by the Hon MCE that he completed the 60 Bed Capacity ward is a palpable lie. Funding source was (UDG) for the project (the ground floor and 1st floor) was readily available. The funding source for the 2nd floor was the District Development Fund (DDF) which the contractor, was tasked to complete with his own resources and to be reimbursed from DDF since government had owed the Assembly 3 quarters. The Hon MCE therefore had no input in its funding. An INDEPENDENT candidate could have completed the project had he or she won the elections in 2016. How come the MCE get to know the foundation was strong enough to accommodate an additional floor if they really constructed the 2nd floor?

If this is not typical “SHOPPING” for projects, how can the Hon MCE refer to the construction of a mere WALKWAY as an achievement though it was even part of the contract awarded to the contractor.

The Hon MCE claim that the Waterfalls face lifting project after the disaster was done by the Assembly under his leadership is factually inaccurate. The project was executed with funding from the consolidated fund after the Minority Caucus in Parliament led by Hon Ahmed Ibrahim (Deputy Minority Chief Whip) visited the site and submitted a formal report to Parliament. Our dear Hon MP, Hon. Kwasi Etu-Bonde also made a statement on the floor of parliament on 4th April, 2017 about the disaster incident with video evidence available, which prompted government to take the necessary actions. So if it is about giving an individual credits for the facelift project, that should have been giving to our HARD WORKING Hon MP and not you the MCE popularly known as MR ZERO.

Also the construction of Round Huts at the Kintampo Waterfalls as the Hon MCE achievement can’t be true. This project was part of the Waterfalls face-lifting after the disaster and thus, a national project being executed by the central government. Again, our dear Hon MP should be given some credits for this project and not MCE (MR ZERO).

Because of lack of projects done by the Hon MCE, he has resorted to segregating ancillary projects of the main Waterfalls face-lifting project, which the construction of the Canopy walk way at the Kintampo Waterfalls is an example. Again, the Hon MCE only engaged in “SHOPPING” for projects.

The MCE should bow down his head in shame telling the hole country this danger zone platform he call roundabouts. You used about thirty seven thousand Ghana cedis (GH37000) of tax payers money for this sketch and you are proud of it? Less than a year for the construction of this so call roundabout, see how dangerous it caused the user agencies. Value for money is what should be your priority.

In his presentation, he also made mention of constructing a dam at Yara, a near by community in Kintampo municipality. From our findings, such dam was constructed by one philanthropist Dr. David Tibalakala popularly known as Yara burga. (Macbeneth Foundation,Canada).

The Kintampo town park was not left out of his lies. According to the MCE he said his administration has finish the football park and it is in use. The dressing room of the park was awarded by the NDC John Mahama administration, and till date the MCE has not done anything for the dressing room to in use.

The road to Kunsu has been done according to the MCE.

Ladies and gentlemen, the air has finally blown and the a**s of the fowl has been revealed. It is now crystal clear and beyond reasonable doubt that the MCE continues to delude himself that he has delivered so well. It is clear from the above enumerated well explain points that this MCE has totally lost touch with suffering masses in Kintampo North here.

The reality however is that, the MCE, Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe so far been a monumental failure’ having betrayed the trust of the Kintampo people, he has again resorted to lies in a desperate attempt to save his fast sinking image.

In the light of all these failures and incompetency of the MCE, he is still parading himself to be elected as parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NPP, a party that is accounting for the unprecedented and untold hardship on Ghanaians.
This same MCE who has performed abysmally and outlived his usefulness as MCE with 97.5% Assembly Common Fund and Internal Generated Fund, is seeking to be candidate for NPP so he could be voted for in 2020 election to be MP for Kintampo North. One would ask that, how could someone who failed to deliver with 97.5% of the Assembly Common Fund, all the proceeds from Internal Generated Fund and all resources at his disposal be able to develop Kintampo with just 2.5% of the same Assembly Common Fund as MP? It therefore comes as no surprise when one of his own political party communicator research showed that the MCE would not win the parliamentary primaries. Indeed, it is true they say a plant that will grow well starts from germination.

Friends from the media, the MCE have and will always has a DNA of lies, double talk and hypocrisy. However, no pillar built on the pillar of lies can stand the test of truth. We shall continuously expose the grand deception and abysmal performance of this inept and dishonest MCE.

We are admonishing the Hon MCE to sit up since he still has close to 2years to stay in office, “ to learn to lay his own eggs, hatch them and call them his chickens”.
We demand the MCE to render an apology to the NDC government and the good people of Kintampo municipality for disgracing us during such an important event.

We also want the MCE to as matter of urgency render an unqualified apology to the philanthropist Dr.David Tibalakala aka Yara Burga of Mcbeneth Foundation, Canada.

Thank you.

*RE: "I CANNOT STEP OUT OF MY ROOM SINCE THAT STATEMENT CAME OUT, JM SHOULD JUST APOLOGIZE"*
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
My attention has been drawn to a statement circulating through the media with the above caption. I wish to state categorically that I have not made such statement anywhere and do not know where such useless statement is coming from.

As a matter of fact, I have not granted any interview to any radio or TV station about the said story ever since it came to the public domain.

I strongly suspect that, the 'confused elephant fraternity' headed by the Clearing Agent, Nana Akufo Addo is behind this concocted story just to divert Ghanaians attention from the recent Insecurity, Hardship, Transportation fare increment, School Placement Wahala, Corruption etc currently happening in the Country.

I urge the general public to treat this fabricated story with the contempt it deserves.

Thank You.

*The Souls of the Innocent TAADI Girls will hunt President Akuffo Addo to his early grave!!*

Let no one think that the weeping souls of these innocent girls will have eternal rest soon; the living ancestors are not stupid! They would not shirk their dutiful responsibility bestowed them by nature; they will surely revenged!. Ghana is bleeding, innocent souls meet their untimely death here and there, now and then! Who bears the responsibility?

We know that "Death is a necessary end, it must come when it will come" this was once said by Shakespeare. "It is appointed for every man to die and after death judgment Heb 9:27". These are theoretical and biblical justifications that every man born by a woman must die. My deepest condolences to the families of Princila Blessing Bentum, Priscilla Mantebea Koranche, Ruth Love Quayson and Ruth Abeka. They have endured prolonged emotional torture following the unpardonably cruelty mated to them by the Ghana Police Service in the course of their supposed investigations.

On the surface of this whole brouhaha surrounding the unending mystery, one would blame the police CID boss Tiwaa Dankwa Addo for her recklessness in addressing the public in matters relating to the mystery. It is recalled that, Tiwaa Dankwa Addo addressing media men in Accra, stated unequivocally that, they were aware of the whereabout of the missing girls. She assured families of the girls and the general public of progress of plans to reunite the girls with their families. This understandably is the reason most people are calling for her head. However truth must be told that Tiwaa couldn't address such press confab on a vacuum! The Ghana Police Service at the time of addressing the press confab definitely should have traces of the whereabout of the girls. I'm of the strong believe that, President Akuffo Addo refused to pay the ransom that the criminals demanded and further rebuked the CID boss for making their findings public. Ask why the BNI boss who was neck-deep in the investigation process was relieved of his duty without reasons! I'm again suspicious that the posture of President Akuffo Addo provoked the kidnappers to kill the girls and dump them in the septic tank.

According to the holy Bible, "Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed Genesis 9:6. This bible quotation can be interpreted in several forms to mean that President Akuffo Addo will be punish by God for failing to protect or facilitate for the rescue of these young souls. The curse and the calamity that comes with the brutal murder of these young ladies will sorely be bond by Akuffo Addo, and will possibility hunt him to his early grave!

Long live Ghana!
