The University of Queensland gives you admission if you have completed a full-time course where English as your medium of instruction, or if you have worked in an English-speaking work environment for at least five years. Bond University and The University of South Australia offer alternative tests, such as CAE, PTE. The University of Southern Queensland, Bond University and the Swinburne University of Technology also accept students whose secondary education’s medium of instruction was English.The University of Southern Queensland also suggests undertaking USQ pathway programs for admission to the university.

Substitute English Language Preparatory Programmes:
Some of the universities in Australia have their own English language schools. The international students who have not appeared for the IELTS or do not meet the required score points, can go for these customized courses. These courses are offered in lieu of/in place of IELTS. Some of these universities are Macquarie University, University of Melbourne, and Swinburne University. The students can finish these courses and then move on to pursue the degree of their choice. Please note that the universities in Australia that have their separate English language preparatory courses have their own fee charges for them. These charges are separate from your main field of study.
International Baccalaureate Programme:
You are not required to submit your IELTS score if you have completed the International Baccalaureate Programme. It is a diploma programme of 2 years duration and is recognized by the universities in Australia and also all over the world. Work Experience:
Some universities, like the University of Queensland, waive the requirement of submitting your IELTS scores if you have worked in an organization where the main language of communication and instruction was English and you have a work experience of at least 5 years.
