There are some serene places which you should explore on your day trips out of Islamabad. Take start from Chak Shahzad or either Khana pul Rawalpindi to Lehtrar road. As you cross NILORE on your right,the road forks into two at Chirah chowk.The left road goes to Patriata by passing Simli Dam, take the right one to Lehtrar. As you cross river Soan, the road becomes hilly and after crossing a few villages on the way, you reach Lehtrar, then crossing Lehtar for another 30 minutes drive you will find Kotli Sattian town, from town you will choose Kotli Sattian New Murree road ,when you cross Burj Market after 1Km there is a tourism direction boards on your right side,This is where the beautiful track begins.
Total traveling distance from Islamabad to Burj Patriata Trail is around 76 km,from Rawalpindi its around 79 Km,it is at approximate altitude of 7035 feet
Burj to Patriata trek is among the most beautiful treks of the region. It’s an abandoned jeep trek starting from Burj (6 km away from Kotli Sattian town) and reaches the Patriata top via Phofandi top exposing the beauty of Kashmir and Murree region, on a clear day this trek offers spectacular views for the nature lovers.The length of this trek is 6 km.

برج پتریاٹہ ٹریک،یہ اک انتہائی خوبصورت ترین ویوز کے ساتھ بہت ہی پیارا ٹریک ہے،یہ ٹوٹل ٹریک 6 کلومیٹر پر محیط ہے۔ جو پھوفنڈی سے شروع ہوکر پتریاٹہ ٹاپ پر ختم ہوتا ہے۔ دوران ہیکنگ آپ کو صاف میٹھے پانی کے چشمے،جنگلی حیات کی سرلی آوازیں،چیڑ،دیار کے درختوں کی مہک،کشمیر کی برف پوش پہاڑوں کا منظر دیکھنے کو ملے گا۔ ایک دفعہ ضرور اس ٹریک پر جائیں۔

وادی کرور کا شمار کوٹلی ستیاں کی سب سے خوبصورت ترین جگہوں میں ہوتا ہے،آپ کرور بآسانی برف باری انجوائے کرنے آسکتے ہیں،آپ اسلام آباد چراہ چوک سے بائیں جانب جاتی روڈ جس کو بن کرور روڈ کہتے ہیں اس پہ آنا ہوگا محض چند کلومیٹر کے بعد یہ خوبصورت وادی موجود ہے۔

ٹورسٹ متوجہ ہوں۔۔
مون سون سیزن میں بعض جگہوں پر تیز بارش ہو رہی ہوتی ھے اور بعض جگہوں پر صرف ایک کلومیٹر کے فیصلے پر موسم صاف یا بارش بالکل نہیں ھو رھی ھوتی ھے۔پہاڑی علاقوں میں جتنی بھی آبشاریں ہیں انکا پانی پیچھے کئی کلومیٹرز دور کے علاقوں سے آ رہا ھوتا ہے تو پلک چھپکتے میں پانی کا فلو بہت زیادہ بڑھ جاتا ہے،اور وہ پانی بھی گدھلا ھوتا ھے جس سے واپسی کا راستہ تک نظر نہیں آتا ھے۔تو اس طرح کی صورت حال میں جب واپسی بھی پانی کے اندر سے ھونی ھے اور پانی بھی کمر تک ہو بہاو بھی تیز ھو جائے تو حادثات کے چانسز بڑھ جاتے ہیں، اس لیے ٹورسٹ مکمل احتیاط کریں،کیوں احتیاط ہی واحد علاج ھے مقامی لوگ جو وھاں پر موجود ھو یا انٹری پوائنٹ پر جو لوگ ھوتے ھہیں انکا بھی فرض بنتا ھے کہ موسم کے حالات سے بھی لوگوں کو خبردار کیا جائے اگر موسم خراب ھو تو انہیں آگے نہ جانے دیا جائے یا بطورِ گائیڈ کسی کو ساتھ بھیجا۔احتیاط زندگی ہے آنے والے سیاحوں کو زیادہ علم نہیں ھوتا،اس لیے مقامی لوگوں کا یہ فرض ہے وہ آنے والے مہمانوں کو مکمل طور گائیڈ کریں۔
یہ آبشاریں یہ بڑی ندیاں علاقے کے حسن کو تو چار چاند لگاتی ھہیں مگر ھوتی بڑی بے رحم ہیں،اپنے ساتھ ہمیشہ کے لیے کبھی کبھار بہا کر لے جاتی ہیں۔۔۔!!!

Kotli Sattian is an extension of the Indo-Himalayan ecological region that falls in the transitional zone of Irano-Saharan ecosystem which extends to the Southwest.This is a very beautiful subdivision of district Rawalpindi (Punjab), Pakistan which is bounded on the east by the river Jhelum, on the southwest by the river soan: an ancient historical river of subcontinent and on the northwest by the Murree subdivision: a scenic hill station of Pakistan. It is also bounded on the south by Kahuta subdivision. Kotli Sattian touches the Kashmir territory on the east by bridging the River Jhelum and on the southwest, it is bordering with Islamabad, The Federal Capital of Pakistan. The evergreen hills with its gentle and steep slopes, the cool, fresh & health giving fountains, the dancing & singing streams, the winding roads & paths that wind through the lively pine woods and the bracing climate beckon the wanderer to this hilly area. The territorial name is derived from the mountain town of Kotli and the Satti tribe. This subdivision is geographically a part of Murree and Kahuta hills. It was declared a subdivision in 1990 by breaking up 40 villages out of both subdivisions.
The subdivision is situated between 33 degrees to 37 degrees and 33 - 35' North Latitude and between 73-26' and 73-27' east longitude. It's length from river Jhelum on the north to Glingali on the south is about 60 km. It's extreme width from river Jhelum on the east to river Soan is the southwest is nearly 40 km. The headquarters of the Subdivision is 45 km from district headquarters and Federal Capital. It stands at 38 km from kahuta town and 36 km from Murree Hill station.
The approximate altitude of the subdivision above the sea level is from 1878 feet to 7335 feet. The headquarters of the subdivision is at 4809 feet above sea level.
AREA: According to the facts collected from administrative records and census (1998) reports, the total area of the subdivision is 83,243 acres out of which 55,590 acres of land is owned by local inhabitants and the remaining 27,653 acres of land is covered by forests and is the property of the government of Punjab and is managed through the Punjab forest department.
HEADQUARTERS: The revenue estate, with the name of Kotli Sattian, is the headquarters of the subdivision. The administrative offices, judiciary and major business centers are almost at the center, and is linked to the roads in all directions. The headquarters at present is a rural estate but is rapidly developing into a small town.
